Thats the thing, your response is a typical response to seeing cruelty and suffering but their supporters dont bat an eye at it and accept TEHPs explanations, we are all marked down as haters, well we are, we all hate cruelty and we wont stop trying to get this hell hole shut down.
 
As this charity is registered with the Australian Charity Commission I would suggest that complaints are also directed to the Australian Charity Commision about the behaviour of this animal charity so that then strike them off and they loose their charity status.

I also have a very low opinion of the kind of people that are gullible enough to just believe what people say to them without doing any of their own research.

Stupidity and lack of any kind of independent thought are at the bottom of many such issues.
 
I wonder if the Charities, Brooke and the one in Luxor, ACE know about this state of affairs and could maybe intervene? ACE doesn't rescue animals but they do treat for free.

They have been known to collect puppies from Hurghada (sp) whose mother had been towed behind a car to death when no longer wanted. Exception rather than the rule.

Janah unfortunately they cant, they cant just walk in and take them, the Brooke & ESAF are banned from there unfortunately and as the women activists are in charge and own most of the inmates they will not surrender them. The others are slowly being rehomed and in one of the videos AL husband asks a lady if she wants to buy Holly, these horses were all purchased by supporters too, its just such a dreadful state of affairs there with animals suffering through lack of food and medical care.
 
I have looked at some of the 'transformations' TEHP have claimed to have made and i don't think its even the same animal...

Might just be me but i think it really needs to be looked into :(

Great, so the issue of people pity buying horses will create a demand and this will just grow. Abso****inglutely fabulous!!!!!!!
 
Well, that was harrowing watching and reading. It could quite possibly be a contender for the saddest place on Earth.
 
Latest disclosure on FB page Questions & Answers. All turned to **** again hasn't it. What I would ask is, given that most people on that page previously supported and worked with Ash and left because she is so difficult to work with WHY do you imagine anyone else would be successful. Questions page says that have people on the ground in Cairo, experienced lawyers backing them up yet they cannot close TEHP down. Do they really think that everyone else has just sat back and chatted over cups of char to each other. WHERE DO YOU THINK THE PETITION CAME FROM LADIES! Letters to ACNC, every charity that can be thought of, other Egyptians that may be able to help, experienced animal welfare reformists, lawyers, police. Tell me, what have you actually done other than screech. WHY is it assumed because intel is not being fed back to Questions page that nothing is being done. EVERYTHING IS BEING TRIED, OVER AND OVER. With the hysterics like Oily and multiple Jans screeching from their rooftops at every occasion (so much for the balanced views and warm welcome you extend to ex TEHP people), who, WHO, in their right minds would join the Questions page. Questions admin play good cop, bad cop, one nice, one spiteful, who knows which one will greet you. Here is my question, have you got stables for the equines to go to should TEHP be closed down by the police or Gov Vets? Have you got homes or a safe refuge for all the cats and dogs? have you got this right now, not 'Yes, we can do this if necessary', Have you got commitment from someone to provide refuge for all the animals? and if you have, disclose it on Questions. My next question, 'How do you think the admin on TEHP could have closed this down' please tell everyone, it could still work now surely, your plan. please disclose it on Questions page.
 
and the young girl, Sharon, has been villified on the page, to the point she has deleted her Fb account and what did she do? Ahhh yes, SHE GOT TWO DONKEYS OUT OF THERE, why didnt the clever experienced equine ladies in Egypt do this as well. just think if even three of them had gone in and said they wanted to help, sympathised about the over crowding, the lack of feed etc and said I have fallen in love with these two horses and want to adopt them. THAT WOULD BE ANOTHER SIX HORSES OUT OF THAT HELL HOLE. Instead, secret filming, screeching by one and all, just tightened those chains and the madwoman that is Ashleigh Lotherington (whos pride and ego will always be her undoing) resolves to fight it out and not give up any animals. Ashleigh is a hoarder, savagely deluded and impossible to work with, as so MANY of the Questions page already know all too well.

WHY have the Admin of TEHP not demanded that the 'owner' go back to Egypt and try and fix some of these things, as this has not happened over night, they must have known, they are all responsible for this torture of these poor animals... its sickening. MAYBE some admin stayed put to try and resolve the issue because you sure as hells bells cannot do that as Ashleighs enemy. YOU know that so why put these comments on. What have YOU done ADMIN other than drive MORE SUPPORTERS to THEP main page. Did you rescue any animals NO. Did you start a petition to bring more people to your Questions page NO. When you were supporting Ms Lotherington did you DEMAND things be done YES and look where it got you. NOWHERE.

This reads like a horror story, what is and can be done to stop this, surely people who are/where donating to keep this cruelty up must know now what is happening inside this supposed "rescue". :(

Wow what an outburst, hope you feel better for getting that off your chest, what exactly have you achieved as I see the only people screeching is you, whoever brings TEHP down I dont care, the important thing is the animals are removed far away from their clutches and receive emergency veterinary care and food.
 
You would think so wouldnt you, but it doesnt, they just gain MORE support. The Questions team had two great opps to change things, when Sherri James went in when Ms Lotherington was in hospital she could have 'cleverly' worked with Ashleigh, helped her set up the Egyptian registration and been one of the signatories and would now, as an Egyptian citizen been in a position to 'legally' sign the horses over to other people. Secondly, Debbie Jackson who was staying and helping at TEHP could have worked with Sherri James and Maryanne (behind the scenes) to rehome these horses, instead she ran crying to MaryAnne after two days and spent another month living in luxury at MaryAnnes. MISSED CHANCES because their pride would not let them pretend to be Ashleighs helpers.

All of the Egyptian ladies must also have tried the Gov Vets, Police etc, same as most of Admin at TEHP who didnt get booted off or leave in utter disgust. Animal Welfare counts for s**t in Egypt so criminal charges have to be found and proved.

They ask why TEHP admin have not done anything. Probably for the same reasons they have not, it is almost impossible to prove that something criminal and arrestable has happened, yet they are afr better placed, ie IN CAIRO and conversant with Egyptian Law to do so. A squorking page that is just gaining further support for Ashleigh is as much use as a chocolate teapot. Some of them claim to have shut CRR down, share ho you did that please ladies and why have you not gone down that route with TEHP?

Hopefully the petition will lose TEHP charitable status, hopefully everything else being done behind the scenes will lay out a criminal case against TEHP and get the Medo monsters (Ahmed Medo is Ashleighs husband) and the women activists (by dint of them claiming to own all the horses) arrested and then I do hope the Questions page people stand by their words that they have homes and stables for all the animals, other than the ones that should be PTS.

OK, I have to start work now but do please know that this is very difficult and many people are doing all they can.

You are right there, it is a horror story from start to finish, we have all written complaints to the ACNC in the hope that her registration will be revoked and she has no chance of getting registered in Egypt.

It seems a lot of people inside TEHP have known about the neglect etc for a long time but their misplaced loyalty to the founder has over ridden any decent caring feelings for the animals which is shameful.

I think you will find they stayed in place to try and keep equines fed while a solution was found. As you must know a local lady even fed and paid for an extra groom for a month to try and keep TEHP ticking over until the new shelter was up and able to take the horses. She too has been castigated by the Questions page. If they had a soluti0n why on earth did they (Questions page) not activate it?

Amanda Vella Hey Guys, please slow down with your hate.. I've been working super close with TEHP and Ash and I promise you some massive changes are coming... Please just wait and watch! We all know the truth behind what's happening over there now.. I agree with the things you have posted but I don't believe with the way you are trying to gain change! Hate doesn't drive out hate, only love can do that! Ash has realised she has made some pretty big mistakes and she is willing to accept help and make some huge decisions! It take a strong person to admit when they have stuffed up and an even bigger one to accept the help offered. She has learn a valuable lesson in all of this and she deserves the chance to fix the problems created by her mistakes.. Jill Barton has offered to take 7 of her equines and Ash has agreed.. This is the first step.. Ash wants change but the hate and attacked just makes people defensive! Lets help TEHP and their animals with love towards the people who actually wanted to help them in the beginning not hate because those people screwed up...

Tazzytop I know Jill has been trying to help but has not had an easy ride from TEHP, lets hope this is the beginning of the end for TEHP and Ashleigh can go look for more gainful employment.
 
Im glad something is happening and others are picking up the pieces to bring about change, the best change would obs be for Ash/Ashley to not only admit she is wrong and admit to cruelty but NEVER EVER be involved in running rescue or be in charge of any kind of equine or other animal rescue ever again. Im getting tired of people knowing being cruel or standing by and watching cruelty to animals then expecting all to be forgiven at a rather poor attempt at apology and excuse making.
 
It's about time this 'charity' was stopped for good. Hopefully the whole shambles is soon a distant painful memory
