Mine came in like that today but he doesnt have a neck. Thankfully dry but it took some grooming to get him slightly suitable for a hack! It was so busy out, we looked like right tramps!

I rode one today which was in that state (also a grey), but wasn't wearing a rug. It would have been easier to ride it through a car wash than brush it.

I seem to regularly hack looking at wet muddy ears at the moment, friends horses are in at night and always look immaculate and I’m the scruffy one

Clearly not enough mud on his ears because he proceeded to do this.

Something about greys I think ? they always seem to lie in the muddiest part of the field and have a desire to be bay

I didn't take photos as I was too busy cursing them - but Alf and Fritz looked like creatures from the swamp at teatime. I walked past them on my way up to the yard at 3.30, and they were clean. When I came back half an hour later, they were both dripping liquid mud. Vile
