Loving some of these ads!

I am currently searching for a new horse. Recently I emailed an advertiser for some conformation photos. I asked if it was possible to send me some photos (side, front and rear view). Seller said she didn’t have any but would get some done and email them over to me. I did receive three photos side, front and rear view…… with the horse wearing a full neck rug and travel boots on!!!:eek:

I didn’t have the heart to go back to her and ask her to take some more!

Why would anyone do that? Rug possibly though at the moment most are naked because of the warm weather. And why would you put travel boots on for anything but travelling?

I am guessing the seller was a young teenager, and I think she thought he looked very cute in his rug and boots. I didn’t have the heart or patience to tell her that I actually wanted to see what the horse looked like conformation wise and not just the fact that he had a pretty head, which is all that I could see…..either that or she was trying to cover up some really bad conformation!! :)

Oi!! One of my guinea pig is called Percy!!!! ;);)
Q

Oh nowt wrong with the name Percy! Guinea pigs equally adorable little squeakers. But seeing as "pointing Percy" can also mean when boys go for a wee, and they put a photo of the pony in all his 'glory' , well I sniggered :)

Found some more heads to match your bums...... personal favourites are the head shot with eyes closed, or the 4th place rossette photo (come on surely you'd borrow someones red ribbon ;))

Pony can't jump? Just whack him in side reins and sell him for dressage. I'm sure people will look past the fact he is ridden in a very dressage un-legal waterford if you say he has quite a light mouth. Particuarly like the reference to natural horsemanship

I do however love the primary photo of this horse. Maybe this style of photo should be standard when selling? Flat work photo, check, jumping photo, check, conformation photo, check, standing on horse, check....

My pony's not that attractive, how is the best way to overcome this in photo ads......why, if I take a photo of him 3 miles away that should pull the punters in.

"but will all go to make eventers, show cobs or if you choose just a happy hacker!" - since when did gypsy cobs make decent "eventers"?! Wonder if we'll see them scooting round Badminton...
