Well, we got him without much contemplation, but also without knowing anything about the breed. In the week after we got him, I googled Patterdales and wondered whether we had made a massive mistake...! But he is so, so lovely. We've had to be tough with him, and he does push the boundaries, so anyone who is thinking of getting one would need to be very strong willed and patient! But he is absolutely fab - I never liked terriers before we got him, but now I'm a real convert

PS. His dad was allegedly one of the most prolific killers around....but last night our rabbit escaped and was running around the kitchen til morning, and Dexta didnt give a stuff He kills mice, but anything bigger (eg. a pigeon) and all he will do is catch it when told - he really doesnt have much of a killer instinct! His dad would be so ashamed
