I'm bored and have been musing about Olympic sports for the ordinary horse owner. May I offer:
- Bin day hacking - marks for height of leap, speed of spin and artistic impression. Bonus points for number of passing pedestrians terrified.
- Fly mask hunting - a straight time trial, fastest owner back with horse's missing fly mask wins. For fairness, all masks will be in a 5 acre field with at least 7 trees and no more than one fenced boundary, the rest must be hedges. Ground must be undulating so no mask can be seen from a distance of more than 30m.

Any more?.
This is hysterical 🤣🤣🤣

This thread is amazing, it's actually tempted me back to the forum 😃

How about fastest to get an escaped Shetland into a headlock and back in the stable? (head collars and ropes are banned as they're always in the tack room or car when it happens) Points deducted for falling over, swearing or ending up riding said pony backwards.

Do you get extra point for initiative if you use under clothing. ( I have seen someone using their bra in the past to wrangle a Shetland)

Got another one. The Ragwort Ripout Challenge. Most whole Ragwort plants on a barrow without them falling off again.

Bonus event - getting the barrow under an electric fence because you can't be bothered to go the long way round to the gate.

Similar, The Sycamore Scratch Up. Fastest to fill a bucket with raked up sycamore seeds and get them all back to the muck heap without any blowing away.

How many electric fence posts can you stack in a wheelbarrow and take in from the field. Points deducted for posts falling out, swearing and crying when every single one falls out in the muddy puddle at the gate.
(I now use a wheelie bin)

Points deducted if said fence posts are tied up with baler twine and baler twine tied to barrow handles at points nearest the aft body of the barrow?

I'm really good at this!!

Less good at winding tape up without twisting it though.

Following an experience last weekend......how to secure a broken lock on a tack locker when coming back from a show.

In real life, the gorilla tape I had on the lorry proved only to have an inch left on the roll. It stuck to the lorry, but not the lock, so I ended up leaving the lock sticking out, and have a new lock to replace it with tomorrow.
