The parents are going to pitch a fit

I think your right lol
I was desperate at that age too.Think she would rather have horse than brother :D

aww... I wonder if anyone gave her pals any tips on her ad writing.. something ver sweet about it though, ver honest :)

love the part about the times and also I AM NOT MOVING YARDS lol :D

Me too, but I'd've been too terrified at what my parents would say to have posted something like that (not that I could even imagine the internet...my dad's carphone-in-a-suitcase was impressive enough) :p

I think the parents should be told. There are alot of weird people about and she has stated when and where she goes. She is only an child and doesn't realise what danger she has put herself in. I for one am very worried for her.

Aww bless her.

I used to ride and work at CEC. I know the ponies in the picture but don't know the girl posting the ad.

She will get there eventually. I started there at her age and now 12 years down the line I have had my horse for 6 years (tho it was a bit of a shock to the parents when I announced that I bought a horse :p)

Oh bless her. But whoever said her parents should be told because she has given too much info is probably, sadly, right.

Oh dear!

Love the brother bit though! My little girl is terribly jelous of my son, Her first comments on him were 'Put the baby in the bed youre my mummy' (In sign language, so cute).

Other than turning up on a Sunday and proving the point in a scary but very practical way, I have absolutely no idea how the parents could be informed (right though you both are).

I have sent the child a message asking if her parents know and if not to tell them. It is a bad world out there sadly. I am worried as when my daughter was young and spent every day up at the local stables (when not at school of course) I had to call the police after she put in an advert to sell her old riding hat and told a caller her routine, only to discover it was a pervert who fooled her. WE had to stop her going to the stables for a while and then had to escort her everywhere.

If anyone on here knows of the riding school could they phone and have a word with the YO just in case.
I don't want to sound melodramatic but this is worrying.

This is quite scary, as I must admit I could see my 8 year old daughter doing something very similar in the near future.

She sounds very sweet and very keen but has definitely put herself at risk with this advert. Does the equestrian centre have an email address listed? Maybe someone could email them a link to the advert so that they're aware and could inform the parents.

I can't delete it.

The riding school does have an email address, and the ad has been listed for a while (+21 days)

lost, if you feel able to, you could write a PS and point her in the direction of www.thinkuknow.co.uk

Used to work with online communities, inc. kids', and that ad would have been an absolutely textbook example of how not to use t'internet :(

I have sent the centre an email and will try and phone them in the morning. Surely the parents don't know about this advert, if they do they have put their child at risk. I am thinking they don't. If you see my earlier post you will see why I am so concerned. In a way I am glad that this was bought to folks notice on here so we can check it out and make her parents aware. Although apparently the advert has been on preloved for a while, hopefuly she will be lucky and no perv has seen it. She also has details of her pets, so anyone could try and groom her.
Poor child so sweet, and innocent and so vulnerable.
Please excuse spelling should have gone to bed ages ago, as so exhausted but I am so worried about this child.

Nice one. It's a starting point and hopefully may at least prompt some thought.

Sorry to hear about what happened with your daughter - hope she has got over it ok.

Well done lost; hopefully the centre will be able to have a word with the parents. Frightening and very sad how vulnerable children are online. :(

Just wanted to commend everyone in their actions over this advert - you wonderful people! There are a lot of people who wouldnt have done a thing.

Very sweet advert I remember feeling that desperation to have a pony. Hope it all gets sorted and she doesn't get in trouble, as really she hasn't done anything wrong other than being very naive to the world.

I am currently hoping to get some local riding schools involved in a road safety campaign, So will include things like this aswell.

I hope the girl doesn't get in trouble, but I couldn't not say something. I was brought up very safety aware - My mum always supervised internet usage at that age and used filters and loggers etc, I know she would have never allowed such detail to be posted.

I would also be unhappy if my daughter were posting that information.

I'm not one of these there's a peado on every corner types at all, but there is a line I think where preventative measures should be taken to prevent a weirdo getting to you.

Even if someone did something intended to be a harmless joke it could still end badly.

Just hope they take it seriously x
