I was thinking last night, after showjumping last night, that Roo is without a doubt one hundred percent perfect for me and that I've definitely found the right one.
This lead me on to wonder if everyone else has found their perfect one.
So a poll for you,
Nickie

I voted for 'Yes, my current horse'

My perfect horse got put down two years ago

Jesse is not my perfect horse, he's not even a horse, more like a overweight donkey, but nothing you could offer me would make me swap him

Pip is perfect now

it has take a while to know him, and still he can't jump reliably or take for granted, but he is pretty darm near perfect driving. I can just tell exactly what he is thinking most of the time, is superbly quiet untill energy is needed and generally fab. He could be a 17.2 grad prix horse, but that would scare me

Ru is my perfect horse now, it just took a long time to realise it. Sidney (RIP) was also my perfect horse then.
Does this make sense?

angua2: yeah that does make sense,

sounds like your lucky as many people I have spoke to seem to struggle to get another perfect horse.

Archie is perfect. I bought him as a newly broken 4 year old and wanted him as my hack, which he has proved brilliant at. He is also a good doer, healthy and fits in with my lifestyle perfectly. He lives out 24/7/365, is very low maintenance and is very, very happy. Also, he is very, very handsome and is very loving and gentle, with not a bad bone in his body.

I voted my current horse too, although I suppose really she isn't 100% perfect. I'd like her to be a teeny bit less sharp and a bit more laid back; not hugely - I wouldn't want anything lazy or ploddy - but it would be nice to be able to take my eye off the ball just occasionally without her taking advantage immediately! It has improved my riding beyond measure though - so I should be grateful

At the time Hen was bought he was perfect, but he has given me so much confidence I have outgrown his capabilities, so is no longer 'perfect'.
But I could not have found a more amazing horse, I adore everything about him and the thought that I have to retire him is literally killing me

If it was a choice between never getting the chance to do what I want to do with horses and Hen staying sound enough for us to carry on the way we were, Hen would always win.

Yes and i was very lucky to find a baby all those yrs ago that would turn into my dream man

Dont know what it was about him as he certainly wasnt a stunning baby by far(he was cute),but something told me i had to have him

I was fortunate enough to have a 12.2 pony as a child which was perfect - perfectly behaved, always in a good mood, wise, kind and a fab jumper. I never thought I would get another like this but my 16.1 warmblood cross mare is the same kind. She really looks after me and is a gentle mare though if pushed has a feisty streak. To be honest, I prefer a slightly more forward going horse but this is perhaps because she makes everything feel so easy plus she is really fast against the clock sj, so she can't be that slow!

it wasn't as simple as It sounds, I do have to admit that Sid was always the favourite and I didn't really bond with Ru until after Sid was PTS I had owned her for about 2 years at this point. Ru was always the quiet, unobtrusive one in the background. Now she is the NUMBER 1 and boy does she make sure you know it!!

i voted for my current horse brodie she is my little angel although previous ponies were perfect but brodie is my little baby i love her to bits i wont ever part with her x

Quick Reply- My perfect horse is the one i have at the moment before he was unable to jump. I'd give an arm and a leg for him to jump again, Although i still find him perfect regardless of that.

Still wouldn't get rid of him for the world, he's with me for life.

Mine's beyond perfect. He found me, I wasn't looking at the time, and we were definitely meant to be. He's taught me loads and even 7 years on I have a good while to go to reach the limits of his ability. I do realise I am very, very lucky though!

Middle option. Current horse is FABULOUS - nicer than I thought I'd find and we're in a comfy groove now after a couple of years.

However, there are still days when I think 'bl**dy horse' and I'm careful with her workload and jump very very occasionally now because I'm scared of anything going wrong, which is silly as she's been sound as a pound for a year.

Million dollar question is that one, I don't think I've ever had anything 'perfect' and I don't think I would want anything perfect neither, happy medium would be nice though, but for me personally, a perfect horse would bore me so I don't go looking for it....good job considering I've got Mr M

Had some great ponies/cobs/horses, none of them perfect but each one had an individual quality that I admired (and cursed at a times

) but provided me with some great memories and taught me a lot and to appreiate each horse for who they are.

Troy my last TB, he would of been a great horse in his younger days, someone's pride and joy I have no doubt about it, but he was in his teens when we bought him (well rescued him) but there is no question he would of done anything for you, enjoyed serving his master and given it 100%, that to me is a perfect horse not matter how many rosettes they can win.

Mine is nearly nearly perfect but could just do with being a hand higher!! Am willing her to GROW as she is four but i suppose you cant have every thing
grin.gif

My lad is perfect for me.....although he is a dipstick on occasions and can be tricky, he has a lovely nature and is a fun/lively but safe ride..........sadly I cannot turn the clock back so I know I have limited time where he will be fit enough to be ridden, he will be a hard horse to replace
