Hi,
Currently I tow a trailer but I'm looking to get a small truck or van conversion. I'm just wonder if it is more expensive to have a small car + truck or jeep + trailer. What's the difference in cost? Currently this is what it cost to run my jeep + trailer:
Jeep :
Diesel - 70 to fill the tank - normal driving it will last a week or two. Towing the trailer it will take half the tank for a usual long distance round trip.
Insurance - 950 a year
Road tax - 1109 a year
Tyres - 155 each (last from 30,000 miles to 45,000 is I push them)
Servicing - between 250 - 400 - meant to be every 6,000 miles but I push it to every 10,000 miles
Trailer - serviced now an again for I forgotten how much.
Can anyone offer any light on the cost of running a small truck or van conversion please - ie cost of fuel, tax, insurance, tyres, servicing etc
Is it hard to insure a van conversion?
Would you go back to towing if you had the choice...thanks in advance
