The Rubbish Winter Weather 2024/2025 Thread

Still really windy here and it's really wearing being worried al the time!!! It's worse at night as you can here all the banging and associated crashing noise.!!
Still no landline and WiFi and now saying will be back by 24/12. !!!
We were on immediately after the storm but the cables were hanging very low so they took them down and haven't replaced them so no phone or WiFi since last Wednesday!!!
We texted yesterday as costing a huge amount to use mobile data.
They have sent us a mini hub so at least we can use the internet at their expense.
Would really like to return normal now ,!!!
and have some quiet weather so we can start clearing up.

Horses had to come in at 2:30 yesterday as the wind was gusting +80mph and when the rain came in was very horrible. They are back out today in 60mph wind but it is supposed to subside to 45mph.

The one benefit for us up here is we’re built for wind. We don’t have trees to fall over and we expect strong winds through the winter. But it’s still annoying 😂

I’m very bored of the wind. We’re on the moors and high up so very exposed so it’s windy on the calmest days here but when the gales start, it’s horrendous. It’s a strange feeling when you’re riding and the winds actually blow you off balance on the horse. Fed up with it now especially as I have a 4 year old who is spicy in the wind so I’ve seemed consistent winds above 20mph with gusts above 40mph not suitable riding weather and that irritates me.

Similar, and ready for it - but megagust last night took a roof sheet off one of the barns - cattle all dusted with snow that’s still blowing through.... now a leisurely 50mph..... fed up with these gales!

Still no mud for us.

The Welsh is chubby. He is 29 now.

Not fed any hay. They get a token feed of chaff as and when. Not daily.

I've actually found this winter quite pleasant so far.

Would love some snow. We don't get it down south much though, so it is a real novelty.

Still blowing like crazy here it's very worrying and scary .Next door neighbour has lost more sheets off a large shed this afternoon !!which just missed her little Shetland ponies as they flew across the field.
I do hope this isn't the pattern of weather for the rest of the winter!
