Time to invest in new rugs this year s other ones got trashed last winter. Horse in question is a section d who feels the cold and drops weight, he's normally out on winter grazing in an exposed field with hedge shelter and turned away. This year he will be in full work and clipped out. I have the luxury of my own newly built stables this year and cant wait meaning he can stay home with my mare , he will be stabled at night and out during daytime. He will have access to hay and shelter too.
Thinking of a
250g turn out with a high neck
250g stable rug
200g under rug
Thermatex type rug for early autumn nights to double up as a travel rug
The idea is to layer up the rugs when it gets colder
Do you think this sounds enough?!
Normally have 2 turn outs one for when the other gets wet and a very old under rug that I can probably get another winter out of!
Thanks in advance
