Sorry couldnt think of another title

My mum has agreed we can have a dog, a small dog :D

Issue number one, none of the big rescues i can find will rehome a dog in a flat with a cat and rabbit :( Apart from the greyhound rescue, but my mum agrees a greyhound is too much, and too big and not fair to expect the neighbours to put up with!

Is there any smaller rescues in kent that would have smaller dogs? I would much rather rescue than buy a puppy :)

I may be missing something but why would a greyhound be too much? They are some of the laziest dogs around, far easier to deal with than a terrier (for example) and the ex-racing ones are used to being shut in a kennel all day so a flat will seem like a palace ;) Anyway some greyhound bitches are pretty small really........

Ditto this :D Islay is max 24" at the shoulder (I think - somewhere around there) and Flick and Amy are smaller, they really are not big dogs at all :):)

I personally think a greyhound would be perfect for your situation!

Don't need a lot of space, don't need a huge amount of exercise and are fairly low maintenance.
Where as you will find most small dogs are actually not well suited to apartment life without an large amount of exercise

I would love a greyhound but i have to have permission from neighbours as its a communal garden but theyve said a small dog is fine :)

I will be going to the greyhound rescue soon so you never know i may be able to pursuade them :D But im lucky they said yes to a small dog to be honest!

Just tell them how much barking and yapping small dogs do ;) (I might even lend you my annoyingly noisy jrt for added emphasis lol) Honestly, she barks enough for all 3 of mine and I've never heard a greyhound give more than a single woof at a time - I know which I'd prefer to live next door to!!

I would pick a greyhound over a small dog any day. Small dogs can be really big yappers (sp).
One of my neighbours has a jack Russell x chuillu (sp) she can sit in the palm of your hand with room to spare but god she can bark. If she is on the balcony when there are dogs on the grass down stairs she will bark till they have gone. Luckily none of the neighbours will complain as her owner is one of the nicest old men you could meet and he lost his wife at the beginning of the year so she is all he has left

I know if i could pick any breed it would be a greyhound or a corgi (blame annette4 :D)
But im lucky my mum said yes at all so im not gonna push her, she will just end up going back on the yes :p
