Still awaiting the snow in North Yorkshire..
Although we were hit by freezing temperatures, Hailstones and Sleet yesterday :)

Think it's going to be a long, cold winter for us all.. :(

I'm in colchester, essex and it's getting a lot colder (8 degrees daytime), and 1 at night. Reckon it won't be long until the snow is here too. Gunna stock up on salt and bits so can at least handwalk!

Me too, it is really nippy all of a sudden isn't it!
I am double rugging the past couple of days.... :( :(

Need to sell my car before the snow comes

I'm looking out the window at the Lakes and it's white - not white here though as I'm too near the sea, but can see the scottish mountains across the Solway and they're white too! I don't mind snow as long as it doesn't get below -10 as that's when all the pipes freeze!

I love the look of snow, but really it has to lay off until at least late Jan. Winter with a broken arm is bad enough - I really can't lug large feeds and haybales around!!

We had 20 minutes of good big flaked snow this morning but it did'nt lie, sunshine this afternoon so I went to put the rugs on the yearlings for the first time and they were brilliant, until Orion spotted Tilly in her new rug and tried to run backwards as the scary monster! Off to get the snow tyres fitted tomorrow.

Think we should have some pretty snowy piccies from those that have it already...

I love the snow but this country falls apart at the sight of a single flake.. and getting to my boy would be a disaster too thank goodness for a brilliant YO that will be able to do him should I not get there, to easy my mind at least.

I love living in the south east *smug*. No snow here! It's pretty mild here although it is a bit Rainey! Think there is a low of 2 degrees tonight and a high of 10 tomorrow... Tough.

We had just over an inch lying before I left the yard tonight. Poor horsies had on ice skates so had to pop the compacted stuff out with a bit of lukewarm water and a hoof pick, leave them in stables till they dried out and then spread a barrier cream thing inside to help keep the snow from sticking. Poor boys and girls :(
How are all your horses getting on with the snow if you've had it yet?

North Ayrshire here, reporting the moor road unusable due to snow [not forecast but very obvious]

Oh my goodness Ayrshire has snow and there's still none in my part of rural Aberdeenshire (just a hard frost) - I'm from Ayrshire but live up here now and normally I've got 6 feet of snow and my parents in Ayrshire have a cm! Something odd going on but I'm not complaning :D

I'm in East Kent, mine are out 24/7 and only just into LW rugs. And that's only because it peed down for a few days! Temps have dropped this morning though :(
It can snow as much as it likes after the 10th, when I have to drive to Birmingham to pick my daughter up from Uni. Journey up the M1/M6 is a b*tch at the best of times, without snow! :D

Oh no! PLEASE don't let it snow too badly this year. I fly into the UK on the 16th (weather permitting) and am off to Olympia the next day.

Last year, I landed at heathrow, got in the car and got as far as detling. Couldn't get up the hill to my parents and had to take a room in a hotel just off the M20 for the night or freeze in the car!

We were supposed to go to Olympia but all the trains had stopped. I CAN'T miss it this year, I've got a horse to buy presents for... and a few bits and bobs for me too.
