A different vet came to see Ellie today and was very very thorough in her inspection of Ellie.

Basically, even if we managed to get weight on her she has other life threatening health issues that could even be made worse if she puts weight on.

After chatting with Ellies old owner this evening we have decided that while Ellie is happy and pain free (vets opinion as well as ours) we owe it to her to let her go sooner rather than later. I am going to be ringing the vets tomorrow to arrange to have Ellie pts in the next few days :(

Thank you all so much who commented on my previous post, your opinions and thoughts were much appreciated.

Oh no :(:(:(

I'm so so so sorry for you.

All I can offer are huggy vibes and kind words in the fact you gave her the best life and was there for her 110% throughout everything.

xxx

I don't post very often (prefer to lurk on the sidelines) but my thoughts are with you at this terrible time.

Oh dear, I am really sorry :(

You have done the best by her all the way through - and that is what you are doing now as well. She is lucky to have a responsible owner that is putting her first.

Big hugs (((())))

I am so sorry. At least the way you have decided she will have her last days enjoying the sunshine and being pain free and happy and knowing she is loved.

Oh Mrs Elle I am sorry to read this. I felt there had to be something wrong with Ellie for her not be gaining weight with all the feed you were giving her. Something just wasnt adding up and I think you have made the kindest decision for her. Very sorry.

Huge hugs coming your way! I know how horrible this decision is but it sounds like it's the right one. Make the last of your few days with her. I'm so sorry :(

Oh no :( *Hugs*
So sorry for you. She ovbiously knows you love her, and you're doing the best for her, and she'll have a really good last few days with you.

So sad for you but admire you for making the right decision, your girl will go happy and loved and couldn't have asked for anything more, big, big hugs to you both. xx

Mrs Elle, so very sorry that this is to be Ellies outcome- many people have been concerned for her and were hoping she would see out the summer.best of luck with the most difficult decision.

A lot of people questioned my mental state after taking on a 26 year old, but she has given me so much in the couple of years I have had her. She has given me so much confidence and love, she owes me nothing, I owe her everything.

It's a very difficult decision to make.
But definitely in Ellie's best interests, with all her health problems. You obviously are a very responsible owner.

Oh Mrs E, I really don't know what to say. I am so very sorry about this but if she has other things brewing then it is best for her to go before they become nasty. Lots of hugs to you and to your gorgeous girl. xxxx

So sorry to read this. Ellie has been a very lucky girl to have had you in her life, and you have both obviously been through so much, and gained so much. A very hard decision has been made, and again, you have made it with your lovely girl's needs at heart. So very brave - enjoy these next few days, and may the sun shine on you both. xx
