Last night, someone has stolen the wooden fence posts from around the paddock where my friend and I turn out our horses.
So we now have the actual fencing but no fence posts, they also stole our water trough and a gate!!!
We've got no turnout for the rest of the day and no turnout until we can find a new paddock or fix the fencing!

I feel very sorry for the farmer as he has now got re fence our field which is not the easiet job.

At least the horses weren't in the field at the time and were in the stables. Dread to think what could have happened!

woah , that's really bad.
It is not as if those things are hard to come by either !! Atleast the horses were not taken though !!

It makes you want to bring back hanging!! i feel the same about ***** who steal NZ rugs of horses backs.

Thank god I now live in a society where I get none of that ****.

((hugs))

I was mad enough about having the lead-ropes stolen of my field gate last night, I would be absolutely fuming if someone nicked my fencing/gates etc

I'd just keep an eye out and if you can ahve someone keep an eye on your fences! Probably some eejits passing by and took the opportunity to take them. They must have been prepared though as they've cut the wire and stuff....

Its a dreadful thing to have happen to any of us, weather it be small or a quite large thing that someone has half hinched, but im affraid its the society we live in now a days, it seems where ever you go you cant escape it really, which is pritty sad!!!

My chin is on the floor! As if farmers don't have enough to do at the moment without having to replace endless fencing and find the money to do that and if there had been horses or stock around it could have led to serious injury or accident. Hope your horses have some alternative turnout sorted soon.

That's disgraceful. I still remember those horses getting killed on the A1 last year because of people stealing the metal five bar gates. Didn't bother to try to secure the gap in any way. No honour amongst thieves, other than for themselves regretfully.

What an anoyance. However I would go to the local press / radio and get them to run a story, and appeal to anyone that might have seen them take it and if anyone notices some fencing being done. Might as well embarass the theives into not being able to use the posts.

It gets better!
Today this afternoon some "youths" were hanging around and being generally annoying. They were seen off the premises but it makes you worried. Why ahng around? we don't know who they are or where they have come from but it ligh of recent events they were escorted off site pretty quickly!
We've emptied the tack room just in case.

Luckily the horses can go out tomorrow lunch time as he is sorting our fencing out tonight/tomorrow morning.
He really is a million in one farmer and I am so greatful to him.

Luckily we dont get people hanging around here, plenty of cyclists and "wobblers"

. But no-one generally comes up from the village. Tho I do worry about how vulnerable they are when they are in the field. Wouldn't take much at all really for someone to do damage to the fencing and then what?

It rally comes to something when you have these thoughts. Do you lock all the field / property gates, surveillance cameras everywhere? Are they safer in their stables or out? Too many what ifs!!!

A good yard owner is worth their weight in gold. Glad your guy is doing something.
