Hi all!

I rode my youngster out the other day & it was apparent he was bothered with the midges - they're nothing at the moment compared to what we have by us up around the forestry in the summer at the moment so I'd like to get him a fly veil/bonnet to hack out in.

He doesn't like ears on a fly mask & I don't like them as I know it makes it easier for the bridle to come off, plus I like them to be able to hear whats going on around them so don't want any of the acoustic/thick type ones - he's not a spooky type so no need.

Are there any out there that are pretty thin or a mesh type material? So it stops the flies bothering him but he doesn't get annoyed by it & can still hear everything?

I've had a good look online but can't find anything that seems suitable & obviously unable to go & have a 'feel' looking around tack shops at the moment! Thanks in advance!

You could look at the Cashel Comfort Ears, they are mesh and have a hole for the forelock to poke through.

I have a cashel riding mask. It goes on over the bridle and is very soft and flexible. Robin approves.

Oh wow that's absolutely perfect thank you! I looked everywhere but couldn't find anything like it. I'll go for a nosy now!

That sounds great - I'll have a look now. If I get one of each I can see what he gets on best with then.

Thank you both! :D
