Ever get the feeling that you are being watched on your yard, and that perhaps your methods/routines are sometimes found wanting by some individuals? It doesnt necessarily mean that you are doing something wrong, but perhaps just that you do things differently, and other people cannot accept that.
There are many things that I do which have sometimes met with raised eyebrows from others. For example:
a) I do not ride everyday
b) I do not ride for at least a day after worming
c) I feed hot mash on very cold days
d) I apparently do not ride for long enough (eg. only an hour today)
e) I do not always wash Ellie's legs down when I bring her in
f) Her head is clipped - only horse on the yard to be so
g) I believe in HUGE straw beds; some horses have only a corner of bedding laid out, but Ellie's whole stable is knee deep with high banks
h) I have no intention to follow/explore Natural Horsemanship
Is there anything you do which is 'different' to the majority on your yard - and does it bother you that you are alone in doing things this way? I know it doesnt bother me - in fact, I find it rather amusing!
Each to their own!
