Thinking of going to see this Highland - opinions?

It's so easy to him he can do it with his eyes shut :)

Where do your jump wings come from? I like them.

They're not shut, they're streamlined for take off :D:D:D

They're just poly jump combi blocks (I got at ISC). They're good, but limited in that there's only 5 height options between "pole virtually on floor" and 4'3  and they're very awkward to lug around! (which is why I made dafthoss move them mwahaha!)

I'm more gutted than I thought I would be when I got Dry Rot's email, given I only met her once, but I completely understand that this is his livelihood and obviously he had to accept the best offer.

I shall keep saving and keep looking :) And in the meantime if anyone knows of a safe, sane and sensible Highland for sale, age unimportant, ideally within 200 miles of the north coast of Scotland, budget up to £1500, please let me know!

Sorry to hear the news Caroline... I had my fingers crossed and been rather confused over the auction aspect...

Not meant to be though, so hopefully you'll find something suitable very soon... :)

My fabulous Highland is by Johnsondene, she can jump enough to do a hunter trial,is like a big furry golden dog on the ground, and YES! She has a crest..they are supposed to have one! They should be rounder and wider than the average pony, even when fit they are still well covered. Laminitus is`nt a problem, only one year did she get too fat for her breed ..and to her disgust she wore a grazing muzzle.Last year she foaled to an Appaloosa, and we actually saw her ribs, but the lovely crest was still there! The foal was weaned and once again the lovely round cuddley Highland was back. Fabulous breed, not the plod they look sometimes though.:D

Since this thread got such a following, I thought you'd like to know that I just heard back from the new owner that Breagha has settled in really well.

She immediately palled up with another mare in the field and they spend much of their time together.

Then, when the owner looked up the paperwork, she discovered that they had both been in the same ownership a few years ago so were in the same herd! Horses never forget!:)

Isn't that great ? I haven't looked at this thread since it started, so have missed lots of pages, will have to trawl back and see what the story is, but am so glad she's found an old friend.

Sounds like she's exactly where she's meant to be then :) What a lovely ending!
