My chiro vet gets fantastic results using a light but very skilled touch. Defo no standing on horse’s backs .

What a richard.

But who on earth would have such a person out to their horse? The gullible?
Mine is similar to yours.
If I had someone in my yard trying that pictured above, then I'd be chasing them out with a lunge whip!

Edited to add, I've recently had my chiro vet out (not the one mentioned above!) for 2 visits in quick succession. I know he is registered both sides of the fence and my regular vet is very happy to swap information, they worked together to help sort things out. No bloody jumping on back or hanging off a neck like that in photos above!

There used to be (possibly still is) a "cowboy" going around who claimed to be a chiro and used some, emm, unorthodox techniques... although in his slight defence I don't think he ever stood on their backs.

His followers would swear blind that he worked miracles and I'm betting this guy's do too ? you can fool some of the people all of the time ?

He’s used by and recommended by a long standing HHOer if you do a search...

Which did surprise me.

The chiropractor is undoubtedly an idiot but why encourage people to search for a HHO user to condemn them for using this person? Maybe he wasn’t engaging in techniques like that before and seemed like a reasonable professional?

Bit unfair to encourage people to search and associate a user with this practice IMO. They might be as horrified as we are to see that. They probably are!

Having dug about, he seems to be near my area! Looking at his replies, he won't answer to which body he is registered with and another has called him out for mentioning him on his CV.
Rather unpleasant all round.

Blimey, he’s a qualified vet, too.

ETA So if I recommend getting a chiro vet to anyone, I don’t mean this one - that is not standard chiro vet practice.

As far as I know, no veterinary education includes having to pass a mental sanity test.

As I sometimes say to my mum, No profession is foolproof.

treating spinal cord subluxations.

As someone working in the medical field I can confirm there is no such thing as a spinal cord subluxation.
Subluxation = partial dislocation of a joint. Usually temporary. You can sublux your fingers by pulling on them.

Any compression/problem with the ‘spinal cord’ which is a different structure to the ‘spine’ would result in severe pain and neurological deficit and would be significantly worsened, not improved by manual techniques even good ones.

He’s bonkers. I hope he gets investigated and stopped from practicing ASAP. Talking utter nonsense and there is no way his ‘techniques’ are beneficial.

Amazing!
Throw a long word into the mix and hope it impresses folk.
Thanks for the explanation.

Ok, so throwing myself to the wolves here. I use him. I've had good results with him for my mare (please don't think I'm an idiot with no idea who just believes anything people tell them, if I hadn't seen the difference between her behaviour before and after treatment the first time I wouldn't had had him back) He has ever done something like pictured or hanging onto her neck, she is not shy on making her feelings known so would have sent him into next week.
I've always tried to use the best people I can to keep her fit and healthy, I used Alvaro as he trained with someone that has since moved to Spain who was amazing so figured he would hopefully be pretty good. I saw these pics earlier and wasn't impressed to be honest and unlikely going to use him again. I'm all for doing what needs to be done to help but that just pushes the limits for me. My mare tolerates it at the best of times even with the physio so something like that would just just finish her off, not something I would do to her.
