I know some may disagree, but sometimes I feel rescues go too far. Just seen on my fb a rescue asking for help to pay a £3.5 k vets bill. This is what they have posted about the dog:
He had CT and MRI scans and we were told that he had a slipped disc in his neck and found he had a spinal curvature and twisting in the thorax. Theoretically they could operate to remove the compression of his spine. However they felt it would be a risky procedure due to his abnormal anatomy ..... And adding to all of this they found evidence of a severe bony abnormality in his right limb near his shoulder. Although this could be arthritis they felt it could also be a bony tumour such as osteosarcoma. Oh and signs of kidney dysfunction. They concluded that he was not a good candidate and his long term prognosis for walking again is guarded so they recommended euthanasia while he was on the table.
They refused euthanasia and took the dog home, they are now talking about a 4 wheel cart for him. To me this is just wrong, are they really putting the dog first. Even if they weren't asking for help with the bill I wouldn't be comfortable keeping a dog going with so many problems.
