I’ve had a look back at a few posts on the page .This dog came from abroad originally around 8 years ago . Has been kept by the rescue as he had so many issues, including leishmania. He seems to have had surgery at Fitzpatricks for which they were looking for donations of £10k, loads of other treatments over the years . I despair !

He came 8 years ago, and haven't been "rehomeable" due to all his issues ☹️ Let me guess, they think "He really wants to live"...

The whole thing makes me think of people counting their notches in the bedframe, no matter how bad the performance was, all that matters is the numbers.

I saw the 6 legged Spaniel today on a newsfeed on my phone. There were xrays that look to me (no expert or even good novice knowlege but read human xrays) as if the leg bones and hips of all 4 bag legs were poorly formed/jointed. The little dog has 4 back legs and some tissue forming a 2nd vulva. Even with the legs amputated none of the hip joints looked well articulated and lower bones looked all wrong. But what would I know..... I hope that a vet will refuse to operate. I would never give money to these rescues as they spend it on all the wrong things.
The puppy probably should have been put down after he was born. Another issue with irresponsible breeding that they kept it alive and then dumped it in a car park

Oh yes, the whole, "he keeps fighting","he won't give up " bit comes up regularly.

In terms of the safety and welfare of any of my animals, my mantra has always been "Do not strive to keep alive". I'm fortunate to have had excellent equine and small animal veterinarians throughout my animals' lives. If I have asked them questions about prognoses and likely quality of life and if that could be continued, I have been given honest and informed opinions. I have always acted on their opinion.
I owe my animals everything. They owe me nothing.
