Seems we have an overlap due to belated pony arrivals! Congrats FW, hope she's everything you need her to be, and welcome to Pebbles!

What are we all up to this weekend then?

I have a lesson on Saturday, managed to get it rebooked from today as work scuppered plans this morning  Rare to get a slot on a weekend so I'm really pleased that we won't have to go without. Then after the weekend Kira goes to Kings to do M75 and AM96. No pressure at all as she's finished her winter Q at Medium, this is just ring practice now.

I'm tentatively back on board Millie as she's done 3 weeks of rest (kinda, she has bust out of her little pen once or twice :o) so she will continue with some very short bimbley hacks. She's SO fluffy, her hair is falling out in handfuls and it's driving her nuts but I am trying to resist the urge to clip her until I know whether she will stay in work or whether we'll have to call it a day. Hopefully distract myself with a bit of Burghley on TV ;)

First little clip clop yesterday

Have fun all :)

quiet one on the horse front this weekend as it my mum's 65th birthday, and the whole family is visiting.
But I am going cross country schooling tomorrow which will be interesting as have only been a couple of times and the last time we went was in April, and I fell off. am already bricking it, really not a fan of solid fences but we will see how it goes.
then back to work on Monday after 6 weeks off (im a teacher) so that's going to be a shock to the system

have a fun weekend everyone!

Hacking with chums Sat, currently deciding as to whether to drive 20 miles to do a low key sj comp (entries close tonight at 10) or a very local (4 miles from yard) show for in hand classes with either of the 2 small one's and NF on Sunday.
Decisions......

My poor wee horse has taken a bad reaction to some fly bites that just happen to be right on the saddle area - so he needs a couple of weeks not being ridden. Annoying since he's only been here a few weeks but these things happen

We started classical in-hand work today and he found the concept a little difficult and very mentally tiring bless him so we will do a little more of that and also add in some desensitising work and maybe some polework / obstacle type stuff to keep things a bit more interesting

Borrowing an old HHOer's horse on Saturday for some schooling and playing around. Trying a new one next Wednesday.

Otherwise, more house keeping, jet washing and general insanity. I found myself washing hay nets the other day. I don't even use bloody hay nets...

Moving yards on Saturday with my two and their 4 field mates and possibly doing a fun ride on Sunday. Depends on how knackered I feel and whether I think the horses have settled enough to box them up again. I think I would prefer to go for a quiet hack but will see.

Good luck to all those competing, taking lessons and generally having a horsey weekend.

I shall mainly be dragging my Cob around the country aided and abetted by the original super cob.

Incidentally, the camera does lie, she's a full hand bigger than Daisy - daughter confirmed it and I also looked in neighbour's windows on the way past just to be sure :D

Good luck all. Glad you're back on board MP.

Sadly asphodel still has the snots, a bit better but still on meds, may go for a walk hack tomorrow, at least I can spend some time watching some burghley action on the internet

Yay to tentative steps on Millie :D

Hope those with snotty noses and fly bites are back on form swiftly.

I'm doing mainly non horsey stuff this weekend (which is all very dull so I won't bore you), but in between will be continuing big man's get super fit for autumn programme (I'm determined not to have a hit of the PSSMs this year - may or may not be successful), will have a bit of a play with pebbles and will take the midget out for some in hand hacks because she's rather too full of herself ATM and needs something to tire that brain out.

Nothing this weekend. Did a try event last weekend. Went up to 90cm and came 4th. Was very happy. I'm becoming able to predict potential problems on xc and be proactive. So my confidence has increased.

Had a very exciting dressage! I found out I had learned the wrong test just as I was about to start.
I managed to stay (relatively) calm and gave it a go. The grass was very slippy. 3 horses slipped over and fell ( there may have been more when I wasn't watching). Everyone was OK and horse and I managed to stay upright.
Horsey got lots of carrots and I got a rosette so we were both very pleased :)

Yay to Millie being up-and-running again MP, and your new girl looks super cute FW :).

More hacking for me and new girl this weekend. I need to find a dressage legal version of the bit she's currently in (copy of NS Verd Universal) as she was leaning badly in the hanging cheek mullen Myler. I'm thinking eggbutt or fulmer french link, neither of which I have at the house!

Nothing exciting for most peope here, but I am off for a sort of get away from things time to see a horse somewhere on the Dutch German border with a friend, and she wants to gp and see some of the bundeschampionate as its semi close, so I may try and see if its possible to go further into Germany to see my foal as she is looking good in the advert so if she sells it may be the last chance I get.

I haven't posted on this thread for ages, having done zilch with the "new" horse but I've gone and arranged to go hunting on Sunday! Presuming that the horse will load that is, as he hasn't been near a lorry since he arrived on that dark February night after a long trip back from Wales. I haven't even popped a fence since I tried him out but a friend has been jumping him the last couple of weeks and he's been super, so fingers crossed.

FW how did I miss the new horse? Looks lovely.
DF I've also missed your new horse news!
Hope all poorly horses start to improve and everyone has lots of horsey fun this weekend x

I'm just hoping I can ride tomorrow! I've been away this week, but apparently H had a fat leg Tues, it's going down, and disappears when he's been out so I'm going to see what it looks like tomorrow when I get down there and see how he goes. Was meant to be going to Burghley Sat and Sun with a friend, but friend has unfortunately broken her leg this morning, so won't be able to make it and I'm left with nobody to go with. Disappointed on all fronts there, as we were both so looking forward to it and have been planning and saving for months :(

He's looking super in the pics JB. I'm not posting about new horse on FB til I see if she's going to suit tbh. And she only arrived yesterday.

New horse looks lovely FW, everything crossed for you here that she's what you need :).

Thanks. Planning to long rein her today and see how we get on. She might be going to a friend for a months super cob training, just depends how I get on in the next few weeks. Moved this over from last week's thread before MP spanks me :D

Have fun all :)

Going of to sunny pastures across the big pond for 2 weeks of sunbathing and chilling.

Loweswater show with fell pony and a coloured horse after last weeks showing disaters.
Last weekend working hunter... Fell pony attempted first course with one run out and 1 down. The run out wasn't his fault really... the course required you to canter past a small gap next to a jump and 3rd time jump it and he got a bit confused. Weird course! One down (last fence) in the bigger class... ran out of steam. Did a good show in the flat class but came no where in results. Fell ponies strugglle against flashier breeds. Took my event horse... was well behaved in the flat class but it was huge and he is not a show horse so got no where. Did the warm up working hunter class but jumps where tiny and was far too excited! Didn't wait around for the open due to the show running 3/4 hours behind at this point and still had yard to sort when I got home.
Local show on Wednesday... took the event horse in Large hunter, behaved beautifully in the go round, handled the mud better than anyone, had to take him out of the class becuase it clashed with the Fell ponies (shouldn't of but there weren't many fell ponies in the youngstock).
Fell pony was very excited, got 4th in hand due to his bounciness! 3rd in the ridden, was pulled in 2nd but was a bit green in his show. Didn't help there was absolutely no warm up, and we where parked right next to the trade stands, next to a tombola tent with loads of people milling around the trailers etc so it was pretty intense for Fell pony! He also did the family pony clas with his nervous owner and looked after her like a pro. Promised event horse I won't show him again... he is confused by it all! Can't fault his behaviour, or his jumping in the working hunters but will stick to show jumping and eventing when behaving himself and jumping clear is sufficent as he is not pretty enough! (He is a 'proper' hunter type, very workmanlike!)

She looks smashing FW - that was a nice find! Hopefully now she's all you're looking for :)

Thanks that means a lot! I think she'll be ok but if not she's a lovely horse so should be easy to move on. Got my original cob Daisy here for a few more weeks so will be using her to show her how to behave!

Well done FW how exciting!

I am continuing with the Baby Cob's education. Running through our intro test tomorrow ahead of next weekends comp (eek!) and hacking a new route with a friend on Sunday.

She's proving really sweet and tries so hard to be brave and sensible! Last weekends xc jumping practice went really well. She was fab and really got the hang of it!

M and her young rider have taken advantage of the last full week of the school holidays by attending a BE training day. They came back full of smiles after tackling some pretty meaty obstacles including combinations, ditches, jumps into water and banks. All good confidence building stuff.

Have fun all. After feeling like I was dragging myself through the last couple of weeks till a later payday (five week months are the worst) I'm quite ready to blast some of it on Chilli on Sat at Burghley. Then Sun is the usual yard work and teaching. :)

We're doing two Elementary tests for the first time today! I'm dragging my trainer along to drive me there and read for me, I just can't get these two to stick in my head! E43 and E53.

No shows for me this weekend after having 2 last week so just hacking and a bit of schooling and my lame horse is now sound so cracking on with getting walking out on his barefeet and seeing how he copes, hope everyone has a good weekend :)

Cracking pics and smart looking horse tiddly pom!

Quiet one this weekend. Both having a day off today as was at a wedding in Dorset last night, me not horse! Hack out tmrw I reckon. Maybe a quick jump session as we don't do that enough. Thinking about entering a tiddly hunter trial next weekend but lorry needs fixing first!

I had fun stealing a pony this morning. Forgive the not-a-video-still with the video play thing - I didn't take it (obviously!)

And there was I imagining F in a top hat and tails, propping up the bar and getting down on the dance floor!
