Do you feed your yearlings?
My 18 month coblet has a huge thick coat and is quite chubby - shes currently eating hay and haylage and seems happy. Although i know she gets hungry as she waits at the gate for me then wolfs down the hay/haylage, i normally leave them enough from about 915am till about 4pm when i give them more hay/haylage. At the moment its just the TB whos working and needs the weight who gets fed twice a day.
Do you feed your yearlings any mix or anything during the winter?

When my welshie was a yearling she was fed alfa a oil and bailey's stud balancer.

My yearling just gets a handful of Safe and Sound to keep her happy when the others are fed, she's fat and fluffy at the moment but will see how she goes, if she starts to drop weight I will give her some more.

She gets hay in the field as there is not much grass.

the 2 youngsters on my yard are feed alfa a oil and alfa beet (one has a handful of nuts too) very small feds but they have loads of hay and are doing really well like that

My 18 month old Rox gets graze-on, oil and D&H youngster mix (aimed towards fatter native breeds but has all the vitamins etc).... and I have just bought a bag of equilbra for my 16 year old Sammi, but I have started to introduce it also with Rox too, so hopefully I won't have to bulk up on too much hard feed throughout winter xx

My madam is all fluffy with a nice chubby tum on her at the moment but we will be feeding hay in the fields shortly now the weather is turning colder. Hopefully she will be ok with that but if she looks like she is losing any condition I will give her a feed once a day. Twice a day if necessary

Fat and fluffy section A yearling getting couple of handfuls of safe and sound, bit of sugar beet and a scoop of general purpose supplement - will give more if weight starts to drop.

yes. I have 2 18 months old boys out 24/7. They are rugged up becuse they are in an electric fenced section with no protection from the wind/rain except for the one hedge. They are fed 1/2 scoop of D&H Safe and sound; and a cup full of Baileys Lo-cal. They loot healthy and have weight on them. Haylege (Blue Bag high fibre stuff) when the rain was horrible last week, they they havent had any haylege for 2 days as the weather nice enough for them to graze instead of turrning their bum to the rain stood.
If they need it I will add speedibeet later on maybe jan/feb time. But only if necessary

Only grass at the moment, but ad-lib hay changing to haylage as it gets colder. AlfaAoil and Bailey's stud balancer later on if weather gets really bad. She's fat and fluffy, long-legged CB yearling living out with her preggie Mum and old "uncle Humphrey".
