As in it loses its hind leg like this?

This is a still from a film we found of Lari taken 7 years ago which shows him doing this, the off hind leg just goes right back and kind of collapses down, so the gaskin drops towards the ground slightly as red arrow. I would say knowing what I know now that its either PSD or SI issues that can make a horse do this. I'd not have bought him if I'd have seen the video as he looks pretty horrendous in it, to me it looks like he had a bad accident and is being rehabbed. It wasn't until after I bought him I saw a number of videos on YouTube and this was one of them. :(

Dislike of going down hill, toe dragging and legs suddenly giving way are all ECVM symptoms - just to add to the list of possibilities!

I had a young horse who toe dragged and hind legs gave way every so often on a surface but not on the road, he just grew out of it when he was fitter. A friends was similar and had kissing spines. My wobbler toe drags a lot, never seen the legs give way but I don't ride him. It could be so many things. I wouldn't ride this horse if it was visibly lame at the front and now has something unknown going on at the back at least without a vet work up to find out what's wrong.
