thoughts on this horse please?

Then I think the photo is probably a genuine representation of her problem. An unbroken really well bred filly should be worth a lot more than that even as a brood mare, shouldn't she?. I hope to god no-one breeds from her, no matter how good her bloodlines :(

Anyone who would consider breeding from the filly would need their head examined: seriously crooked front legs. I'd be amazed if any decent trainer would even take her on for training with leg conformation like that.

Bless her - if I had the land I'd take her as an ornament just to save her from a crap life. Really hope she lands on her feet.

I think realistically though a companion is all she will ever be.

This. She looks so lost and scared in her eyes to me. But I'm a soft touch and not bothered about the horse having to ride to pay its keep.

What a sad post... :'(

Like everyone else has said, those forelegs scare me... she may possibly be cow hocked too. Though it's hard to tell from the photo and the way she is standing. She looks older than 2 to me, but I don't know much about tbs! Her neck is awful as well :( if she's unbacked, then why is she advertised as a non-riding horse? She probably has some joint problems or injuries. If that's the case then sadly I don't think there's much use for her, if sound she may have been okay as a hack but nobody should ever breed from a mare like that. If your friend is happy enough to keep an expensive companion, then good on them - not many people would! Poor mare, I just want to give her a big hug and a load of treats. :( xxx

Who is the seller?
Is this one of those 'rescued from the meatman' jobs to turn over for a quick profit from some mug?
£500, they are seriously having a laugh.
Twiggy, if your friend wants a cheap TB there is one for £600, 6yo that's popped up on my FB feed that looks like a good type

What kind of 'saving' a horse is this if the new owner is trying to sell her two weeks down the line? I could operate a full on rescue centre on that dubious principle.

That was my thought too, which makes the clipping and shoeing even odder.

And yeah and amazing rescue if you keep them for 2 weeks then palm them off for a likely profit, now where have we heard that before...

It could be an optical illusion, but she has front legs like a chimpanzee and hind legs like posts. She's massively underweight, she's been shod even though out of work and she's been fully clipped - why would you clip if she's sweating under a rug? Surely any normal person would take the rug off. This horse hasn't been rescued, it's right at the start of a very slippery slope downwards.

In all honesty she is one person I am trying to put off getting a horse (she knows that)-your comments have helped in this instance.

Sorry, this horse may have a lovely temperament but has dodgy legs and looks very thin for a youngster. Agree with lots of the previous comments. Wouldn't touch it. You can pick up something far better for the same amount of money.

Poor thing, conformation very off!

Unfortunately for horses like this I wonder if it's better they are just kindly pts rather than being passed on like this to likely live a less than healthy life...

This is where I feel like a cold hearted cow bag.
With legs like that, if the photo is a true likeness, I cannot see her staying sound even as a companion for many years, certainly I feel she is likely to suffer arthritic type discomfort at the least. I honestly think I would PTS if she were mine, assuming she is as she looks.

I certainly wouldn't breed from or sell her.

No - wouldn't touch with a barge pole! Those front legs are highly suspect.

One thing I learnt many years ago from an old instructor - Look at every horse with a view "Could I sell this one day" - if you hesitate with your reply, don't touch it.

Oh bless her. I wonder where she will end up.
Not my type of horse at all but I want her because I feel sorry for her. (it's probably a good thing I cant have another)
