Three horses die at Kempton racing

A quick google shows the Government receiving 4.1 billion pounds from the horse racing industry, so you can safely say racing is going nowhere anytime soon.

Kempton was horrific to watch and the aftermath was also an awful read. The press managed to spin the reporting of the Ferguson owned horse as being such an awful loss to Ferguson. I found that distasteful, the true loss was to the lad or lass who looked after the horse day in and day out. Ferguson might have patted it a few times and was no doubt pleased with the 194k it won. The horses are just a good day out for wealthy people. One of Fergusons useless horses was sent to the sales recently, it fetched £1000 and was bought by its lass. I thought how sad that story was, after fees and transport Ferguson might have netted £500, the price of a few bottles of good wine to him. He could so easily have gifted the horse to the lass and thrown in a bag of pony nuts. Perhaps he could take a leaf out of JP's book when it comes to providing for his old horses.

I enjoy racing and I really enjoy seeing small trainers do well with cheaper horses.

When that light goes on inside your head that Says, that is not right, you have choose

There's enough cruelty going on without watching such beauty suffer from a brutal death, and what for, fame, fortune, money, a bunch of over excited people jumping around kissing each other because their horse has won, while yards away a horse lies dieing or dead

No that can never be right
Exactly ! Especially when most of the punters haven't a clue about horses and most of the owners couldn't even reconise ' their' horses if
you showed them two similar animals !!!

They only one caring are the stables staffs. All the others are mostly drunk or stupid or both !

Apart from those of us who do change their views on racing, of course 🙃. Also hunting…

Pretty much always from being a racing fan to totally falling out of love with it, very rarely if ever the other way round. Too many sickening fatal falls and catastrophic injuries, plus the massive wastage rate.
But were your changes of heart due to debate on here? I doubt it.

I’m an owner… and that’s pretty rude!

oops, sorry, i am sure that you are a caring owner.

But i have been working in racing 10 years and i can count on one hand the number of respectful, caring and knowlegable owners i have met.

Money and fame is what interest them !

I am not talking about group of people owning part of a horse, they aren't in it for the money but mostly for the social side.
