A sharer here just said to me when I said you have the boots round the wrong way replied * that is how I have always done it, as the pressure is on the middle velcro bit and it is the middle bit that needs to face the back.*

I have always been taught apart from knee boots all straps face the back including this type, as I have seen a horse on a hack through long grass which caught the strap and pulled it back so girl had to get off and Velcro it again.

please note I know I have not put them on tidily as I need to show obviously what she did.

These are the type of boots which have middle velcro sandwich between the plastic outer layer

What is your view on this A ) on the off hind with the plastic outer strap facing the back of the pony and the middle one facing forward

Depends on the shape of the boot/strike pad really - it should be pretty obvious which way round they are supposed to be

All the double lock boots I've had have done up as stated by your sharer, and Woof Wear agree

She was so adamant she was right (thinks she knows it all). She said horse only come in season twice a year, someone ought to tell my mare as she comes in every 14 - 21 days.

Made me want to double check my notes and such.

Even told owner that she wont put the plastic tendon boots on (horse tendon injury and was box rested 2 months) as she said they too hard so put brushing boots on instead (not what owner wants)

Some it is pointless arguing or discussing it with simpler to walk away which I did.

Yes with the middle inner strap forward you pull on the tendons the outer strap is only for security. So the middle strap front to back and outer strap back to front but no need to pull quite as much.

ah you mean the boots not the tendon ones or the season

thanx

Though when i first saw the boots on I was unaware of them being 3 straps as he has two pairs , one normal and one like this so I assumed it was the other paid, that said i stand corrected.

The boot pictured (in the first pic) would go on the nearside hind - the shape of the strke pad won't work well if on the other leg.. So middle strap faces back and the other strap is just to stop it coming undone
