I think he's a one off! I rode a lot of Shetlands when I was a kid and never one like him but I suppose they don't get the time put into them.

YAY! Bareback is great - she looks very natural and well seated without tack in the way :) I almost died laughing at the mounting issue at the end though :D She's very skillful for a 2.5 year old :p (Lol)

Those hacking photos are lovely. Beautiful place!

She managed to do a walking dismount today. She wanted to know why I said to do it and I said well soon you will be able to leap off when he's cantering and vault back on. She didn't believe me tho strange child!

It is a lovely place, I was trying to find a path through to an even better hack but I couldn't find it, we ended up heading to the top of the cliffs and I decided maybe not :o :eek:

Few things more fun than learning to throw yourself off your horse at speed :D Never managed to vault back on myself, but she will definitely need to for mounted games soon... If she ends up doing the Prince Philip cup, you'l have to tip me the wink so I can come watch and cheer her on! :p
 
That video is inspiring. My little 2.4yo just sits on the mini for 2 minutes independently and that's a major achievement in itself. Now I see what I need to aim for!

My friend has a daughter a year older than mine, she is my inspiration! Sometimes I think it helps to see what a small child can do, otherwise I'd probably still be dragging her about on a lead rein.

OMG they are so fabulous! Your Mini jumping in all that open space - very brave! And her riding is lovely altogether. What a good girl! :) And LOVED the mounting. Wish I could get my leg up that high!!
