Titchy - surplus to requirements

Bother! Saw I was going to be first to comment and thought I could get a Titchy for grandson!! Guess he will have to make do with Dartie lol.

Thanks. :D I just watched it again and realised she is taking it literally when the instructor says "forward to walk" etc and leaning forwards lol!

Lol thanks. I wondered at the time why she was collapsing on his neck but I've never said forward except when I've said forwards into jumping position :o. Will need to start using the right words instead of nervously shouting "back to waaaaalk!!!!"

There was a scary moment when he touched his bum on the black material round the arena and shot off bucking. She hung on and I was relieved that that's why he did it (hence us continually telling her to stay off the edge!)

Thanks, I was so chuffed with them tonight. He can be very sharp when it suits him but mostly he's a wee star. Thesis the first time she's ridden off the lead rein in the lessons, I was intending to give it a shot tonight anyway but it was great to try them out away from home with no other ponies around.
 
What a lovely video! A sweet little pony and a great little rider. What height and age is the pony? What age is your little girl? And how much experience did the pony have when you got him? I have a 9.2h pony and I want him to be like Titchy!

Thanks, I am worried I am boring folk tbh but while my parents think its great, they don't quite realise what she has achieved so young as they are not horsey at all!

Thanks! Pony is about 32", he is 6 and was unbacked when I got him in January. He was very very well handled and a much adored pet, so a nice character already. Breaking him was very easy, we had a blip about a month into her riding off the lead rein (I clipped him and he went totally bananas and bucked her off violently 4 times in a week as he was so sensitive now he didn't have his "padding"!). Bit more ground work on the long lines and with a dummy and he reverted to being brilliant. Daughter is 4 and has had a Shetland to ride since she was about 18 months but previous one was hard to catch and a bit evil so she didn't have the freedom she has with Titchy who is a real poppet. The summer hols have really brought her on, we hack out for hours and hours at a time (20km hack day before yesterday, usually do at least 10km) and she is only on the lead rein on the road now. Aim high with your pony and school it on long reins regularly and you too will have a Titchy :)

Freeze them in time - never let them get any bigger, they should be on a keyring so you can carry them around with you :biggrin3:

Failing that, make sure you show her this video when she's about to go round Badminton.

They are cute beyond words and I don't even 'do' children :smile3:
