Hi everyone
Ill try and keep this as brief as possible! Basically Im looking for some honest advice from like minded people.
Ive been riding a very sweet 16hh mare for a friend of mine. She is only 4 years old but is an absolute dream, she is wonderful in the school and I have hacked her out a couple of times and she has been very sensible, even when overtaken by tractors. I know some of you will say it doesnt matter, but she also has excellent breeding and I think she has bags of potential.
Basically as you can probably tell I have fallen completely in love. My plan was to buy a horse next spring after my wedding for about £2000, however this mare is for sale now, and Im wondering if I should grab the opportunity. My thinking is that I would never get bored of her, and she would hopefully last me into my 40s before I retire her!
Of course there is a catch; she is £4000, which would use up every last penny of my savings.
I suppose my question is, what would you do? She is everything I would look for in a horse, but it makes me feel uneasy to spend all of my savings it would only take one bad MOT etc. for things to be difficult money wise.
Also, I wondered what you all thought of the price?
On the plus size my partner is very supportive, and while things are tight at the moment we are both hoping for pay rises at the end of this year when we both hopefully pass our qualifications.
Wine and Pringles for anyone who got this far!!
