Apparently my sig is too big. OMG, can you believe it. I have had that sig since I first started on H&H. I don't come on very often now and did so this morning to ask advice on my sick horse. I saw I had a pm and thought perhaps someone had sent me some advice and was shocked to see I have an 'infringement' against me. I mean, how sad are some people, I don't even know how to edit the size of my sig so if the busy body who reported me would like to volunteer please do so and you can have the pleasure.
 
what a total dork. If you are reading, who ever you are, go to quick links ^^^ and edit optons, then uncheck 'show signatures' There? That better.
And even that will only have filled about one minute of a pointless life, I suppose.

They said it had been brought to their attention earlier so I guessed someone had done so.

"I'm sorry but, having been brought to our attention your signature image has, at 800px × 119px, unfortunately been found to exceed the forum guidelines".
 
p.s. I got told off for my sig being too big too, a few months ago everyone was getting told off, so you have probably not been singled out in a spiteful way.
 
I once had a couple of people comment on one of my sig's years ago, must of been a long one like yours, however I didn't know back then they had to be a certain size ...I'd only just discovered how to put one on (I'm not very technical:o) but they sent me a PM asking me to reduce it because it was making it difficult for them to read posts or something to that nature, anyway I didn't mind so much because at least they PM'd me rather than reporting me.

I got ticked off because I was advising someone on something and it was seen as advertising!

I think the button has to be pushed for it to be brought to TFC's attention, some people really need to get a life!
 
its very long on my 10 inch screen, i have to scroll across to read what you have written. It prob wasnt anyone button pushing. I got an email from tfc about mine that was mm out! there are specific measurements it cannot be over and i would say yours is quite abit over. but i do have a small screen so it may make it look bigger.
 
Rules are rules. They are there for a reason. That reason being that large signatures distort people's screens and make it hard to read.

Instead of taking it personally why don't you ask for someone's help to resize the signature?
 
I too find signature moaning and reporting a bit sad, but each to their own. To anyone reading this who has a problem with their screen displaying things properly as a result of signatures, you can actually turn off signatures (so I was told, don't ask me how!), so maybe that would be a good idea. I know its nice to see the pretty pictures, but honestly, this forum is a big place, and switching off your signatures will be far easier for you than reporting every tom dick and harry :p

AFAIK you can only turn off your own sig, not other people's.... Although I would be happy to be proved wrong! :p

But why should people have to turn off all signatures [some of which can be very nice] simply because others cannot keep within the rules?
 
I don't understand why the forum doesn't have upload limits for sigs like many other VB forums have - they can be set so, for example, you can't upload anything more than 600px x 100px and a max file size of 20kb.

It's not so much of a problem now the format has changed for iPhone users but it's still an issue when using certain monitors and especially netbooks.

It's just kind of an internet anti-social issue, like WRITING ALL IN CAPS and not putting long posts into paragraphs. It's annoying and benefits no-one but the poster. :p
 
So change it then rather than moaning.

I can see why people can get annoyed by big sigs after a day on my mums netbook. How hard is it to shorten it a bit?

After all you agreed to the T&Cs when signing up.
 
When i was using a normal size laptop i also could'nt see what people were moaning about.
Now i have a net book i understand why, if i have to keep scrolling backwards and forwards to read posts, it pees me off and i give up trying to read it altogether!
 
Yesterday I read about someone who is reporting someone else. I think MI5 is out there somewhere, I only just joined and so far so good. But why suddenly a big drive on reporting people?

Shame !As they say, its usually the minority that ruin it for the majority! True? I think so.

Keep posting as I really enjoy this forum and am about to post another question so need all heads put together!

Lets face it if someone is reporting for the ridiculous they must be right sad?
