I have received today, from a Forum Member, what is, according to my Solicitor, a VERY libelous PM.

She is, legally treading on dangerous ground.

i have contacted her parents about her delusional ramblings on here and via PM...

The reason why i'm posting this, incase folk on here are thinking this should be kept to PM, is this...i want to let the Member know that if she posts/pms any defamatory posts/or pm's any other members who then pm me...then, as i explained to your mother, i'll take this further......

I am lucky in that I have never been the target of nastiness on here. I am sorry your are going through this JM7. I don't think there is any need for people to get nasty - they can have there say without being unpleasant - and disagree without being rude.

I personally come on here for advice/fun/and a bit of a giggle. Maybe Im just a bit naieve but I would imagine most people come on here for the same thing. I wouldnt dream of PM ing someone and being horrible

Thats what I thought. In the eyes of the law its in black and white so regardless how many see it, it is still libelous??
 
If he/she sent it as a PM, it might technically be libel, but you have suffered no personal loss as noone else has seen it. You could end up spending a fortune on legal fees suing her, and win something like £1 in damages as you have suffered no actual loss. Did your solicitor mention that? Just remember that it is in the interest of members of the legal profession for you to pursue actions as that is how they make their income!
 
Ok, sorry to completly change the subject- S, the flying penguins were an April Fool?!! I thought it was amazing when I watched it on the news this morning!
