She has colic.

Was pottering about out in the yard and she kept nudging me.
She looked fine but wouldn't leave me alone. So having known her 16 years I knew something was up.
Needless to say, she now is in the full throws of colic. Had painkiller and buscopan, now it's a waiting game. Have to wait till half 6 for any improvement. If none, more buscopan or if worse, rainbow bridge.

Everyone cross everything please.

clever girl for tellng you...she must now you are going to look after her when she is hurting...I hate colic such a unpredictable ailment but you sound like you caught it early which is always a good thing so fingers crossed and hope you both have a peaceful night.

Just nipped out, she is eating haylage. Good signs. Opened stable (they usually get to go in and out as they please) and the big lad came to door and started eating with her.

Fingers crossed this improvement keeps up.

Guido, perhaps get her out and moving? My girl has had four bouts, two very serious, the only thing that worked was pain relief and getting her moving.... Worked every time! Massive vibes for you and Pone.

Good signs guido... I'm wafting "fart" and "poo" vibes in the general direction of your mare. Fingers crossed!

Update, been back out, not so bright now, nipping haylage and not passed anything yet.

Billie, think I will get vet back out for more buscopan then put the head lamp on and head out with her for a walk. Only thing is, it's sleeting sideways here!!!!! Oh well, will put a rug with hood on her and winter woollies on and head down the road.

As long as there is improvement it's ok, although been here before and then it all went terribbly wrong.

Thanks for all the good vibes, she is my forever horse, taught me everything, hunting, XC, jumping, endurance, backing, has never stepped out of line, ever. 16 years on and I will do whatever I have to for her.
