Hi guys, I'm looking at alternative bits for my mare. At the moment she is in a mullen mouth, happy-mouth loose ring snaffle. She is a middleweight cob x and has a large tongue, and low roof to her mouth - so ideally I need a relatively thin bit which still gives her a tongue a bit of room. I hate single jointed bits and she has only been ridden in mullen mouth happy-mouth bits in the past 5 years as they were all she seemed happy with. She is perfect to jump in this, but I feel I need a bit more refinement for dressage. Flatwork really isn't her favourite thing and although she is capable of a perfectly nice dressage test, seems to like to throw every evasion at me beforehand
Generally tho, this involves leaning on the bit, which is obviously very easy to do in her current mouthpiece. So I'd like to try the loose ring tongue saver, but wondered whether anyone else had tried it for these reasons and what their results have been?
Thanks in advance, sorry for the waffling!
