I have a chunky 14yo Welsh Cob with mild arthritic changes in his front fetlocks who is a very good doer (think looks at grass and gets fat). He is on restricted grazing and gets a token feed of HiFi light with Equivite and Cortaflex added. He has a bute as and when he needs it which is very rarely since he had a steroid injection into his worst fetlock. He is in light work hacking only and I am building him back up slowly after 3 months off due to lameness (when we discovered the arthritis). I read this forum alot (too much) and am becoming very aware of all the different supplements available and just today seen people raving about Magnesium and Cinnamon. Now I want to try them!! My back lady has also recommended feeding seaweed. And someone else has suggested Devils Claw. My poor boy is already eating more powder supplements than feed, I can't possibly add any more! I think there is a niche in the market for feeds with specific supplements already added...I want the best for my horse but can't possibly give him anymore gritty dinners....what does everyone else do? Are any of you as confused as me?
