On Sunday night Frankie outdid himself in his shoe pulling exploits and pulled a back shoe off in his stable - he really is very special

So he seemed OK and I carried on riding him (farrier was due today).

This morning we went out for a hack which included quite hard tracks and he seemed fine, in fact the only thing that bothered him was slippy mud - he is a wimpy TB and turns into Bambi on ice in mud.

So after a chat with my farrier decided to leave him barefoot behind and see how he goes.
He either works in the school or hacks out on a mixture of tracks and grass so I'm hoping he'll cope.

Hacked out today mainly on grass - he was a bit footy on some of the tracks but was more surefooted in the mud and grass.

I have got hoof boots but he can't cope with slippery grass and mud in them and it is difficult to find a hack that is all grass or all tracks.

Still it is day one.
