Photos from yesterday. I managed to take 1560 photos yesterday, that's why it's taken me so long to put them up on the forum. Today I was lucky enough to catch them when they were training (no competing today), cue even more photos - but I will have to upload them tomorrow. For now, pictures from the warm-up yesterday, from the test, and from the prize-giving. I will start another thread with pictures of Riem (Parzival for Halfstep etc) but I have so many of Totilas and he is such a superstar that I thought he'd deserve his own thread(s)!!

This was the first time I'd seen Totilas 'properly' - I had seen him at Olympia before but sadly I couldn't get to the warm-up arena at Olympia, so I literally saw just the 8 minutes of the test. Yesterday was completely different, I was able to see both all of the warm-up and the test (Munich is really ideal in that respect because the warm-up arena is so close to the competition arena).

I love this sequence, both Totilas and Hubertus' Donnelly are doing half-passes, and they are at the very same stage at the same time. What a difference though:

I also took some very short videos with my camera. He was constantly practising movements, here some canter and pirouettes (you can also see Isabell on Warum Nicht, and Hubertus on Donnelly in this video):

Nice one FB...I've been waiting for these!!

That horse is just amazing, such power and yet that trot is some wonderfully light...he really is a delight to watch!

Gosh, thank you for these. There's just something about him that sets him in a different league to everyone else.

I wonder how it feels to be one of the other competitiors warming up next to that!

I know Lannerch- it's not my mare sadly, but I'm on foal watch for its birth with owner and rider!!
 
What a lovely start to my Sunday morning, have really been looking forward to seeing these pics, thank you so much for posting.

Totilas and Edward are giving me a completely new outlook on dressage, I actually look forward to flat work now, a worrying development for me!

I wonder how the others feel warming up, they must know that the majority of people watching are probably there just to watch one horse:)
 
Beautiful! EG is a SUPERLATIVE rider, you can really see that in those warm up videos. Totilas is astonishing. I wonder if he ever gets used to riding him. He looks better than ever. :D
 
It's always a privilege to see Totilas. He looks stronger and more mature than last year and the ease with which he does everything is just fabulous. Thank you for sharing it with us.
 
What fantastic photos! And a truly amazing horse and great rider. Still think he should be wearing a hat!!

Where are you? I'm about an hour from Munich right now as visiting family and desperate for a horsey excursion! ANY THING ON TOMORROW?

cant wait for 2nd set!
 
Thanks for posting these :) I just watched a couple of the videos..he really is amazing. He's just so uphill and so....I want one :D
 
Love love love the piccies, I could watch that horse all day he is just awesome! Will be really interesting to see how breeding develops over the next few years and whether horses like him become more common or whether he really is going to remain the best! Very exciting to see what offspring he produces!
