Towing question! Rather confessed here

Rog ,why dont you go and read the regulations. They are all that counts . Not what you have been told by somebody. READ AND UNDERSTAND the regulations. What I have been saying comes straight from the regulations ,they are the law,not what some policeman or dvsa person tells you.

When experts such as the DVLA DVSA TRAFPOL DfT etc read the regs and pass on what they mean in UK law then why should anyone believe one person who says that the regs mean something else ? - that is what you are saying ........

If you believe that the regs read the way you think they do then I suggest you put on a home made plate and present it to the authorities as legal and see what happens

As I said before you are welcome to interpret laws as you see fit but the reality is likely to be different when you get into conflict with the authorities

The simple answer to this is that this one person happens to be "one of the experts".Have you considered the possibility that you have insufficient knowledge and legal training to ask the question properly . Ultimately the courts decide,but the courts are bound by what the law actually states and not what others might wish it to state. If you can find any reference in LAW to support your argument please tell us . If not ,then please do not refer to what I have said as misinformation and illegal .It is neither.

This is my last communication on this issue

YOU are the ONLY person in all the forums who states differently and states differently to the authorities BUT you are entitled to YOUR OPINION !
 
I am also probably the only person on the forum who was once described by an appeal court judge as "possibly one of only half a dozen people in the country who understand these regulations". This was just after he ripped the CPS barrister to shreds and told him to "go home and learn some law".Perhaps you should also take his advice.

Mike007 - leave ROG alone. He (I'm assuming ROG is a he, but I don't know) ROG is The Business.
I have no axe to grind, I'm not related in any shape or form to ROG but he is always willing to help, knows his stuff and is respected on this board.
If you are right (and it's a BIG if) don't be so bloody rude !
