This is probably a pipe dream, but I'd love my own transport. YO said that she will take me to any competitions etc that I might want to do, but I don't like to ask, and if there are any that I want to do, she is already taking others so the transport is full.
Anyway!
My budget would NOT be huge - £2500 max probably.
I passed my test 3 years ago so can drive up to 3.5 tonnes on my licence without having to take another test. I currently drive a renault clio but have had a 4x4 (Freelander) in the past so am happy driving one.
Which would you get? A small lorry to take one 17.2hh warmblood type which I can drive on my current licence, or another 4x4 and trailer (but I'd have to take test).
I would struggle with the parking at the yard for the lorry, but I might be able to hide lorry/trailer at school somewhere...!
Which is safer? Which is easier? How much is plating etc for lorries? With 4x4 and trailer option obviously you just have to tax/MOT/insure the one vehicle and maintain trailer, but with lorry option you have to maintain two vehicles.
What would you get? What have you got? I'd be very interested to know!
