I used to have my own trailer and always had either straw or shavings down (not loads) to travel a horse but now I have to borrow/hire a trailer I don't put anything down.
How does everyone travel their horse? With or without something on the floor and do you think it makes a difference?

I put some shavings down in an appropriate place depending on if mare or gelding, for weeing, as I've found some don't feel comfortable "going" if it splashes them from just straight rubber flooring. Actually tend not to put it under their feet though as I think it can be more slippery (though does sometimes end up under back feet of bigger mares as I put the shavings up against the back).

No I don't tend to put anything on the floor but I rarely travel over hour ish, if it was a long journey I probably would .

I sweep all the bits pulled out of the haynet to the back to catch the poo on the next journey, it makes it easier to clean out.,

Shavings down in the centre to soak up any wee. Not fussed about poop as that can get scooped out. I feel it’s also a bit nicer for them. I soak hay too so wouldn’t want to risk drips running down the rubber and becoming slippy.
