Trying to get a horse more forward going in the school?

Mine is exactly like this. I have tried all sorts of approaches. My next plan is to take her to some group RC lessons in the hope that working in company (especially jumping lessons) will help her to realise that school work doesn't have to be boring.

It's so confusing though because last night was the first time I took him in the school and he was really forward, really energetic and responsive, his ears were forwards the whole time. He just won't jump. He goes for it and canters towards it getting really excited and just flies past it! I got him to jump but only on a sharp angle.

Another update, second time in the school last night and it went so well. He was flying over the jumps this time and has got the hang of the trotting poles now, he's not kicking them like he was last time and he didn't refuse the jumps loads. Only thing, I can't get him to canter on the right leg, I ask for canter on the corner and he goes into it on the left leg. What's the best way to get round this? The other thing, we need a lot of work on our strides up to the jump, it's always too early or too late unless we trot. How can we practice this? Going to research it as well but want people's advice on how they do it. Thank you!

Third update, I think this post is irrelevant now since we jumped 3ft in the school yesterday without having to even try! Thanks for everyones help!

Well done - some exciting stuff like jumping makes all the difference. There is an old horseman round here who maintains kids ponies go really well because they spend their life doing fun stuff, rather than the serious dressage type schooling.
