Usually the grass gives the youngest cob more than enough energy - but growth around here is non existent and he's feeling a bit flat. Weight spot on.
I've been using up his Bailey's balancer but it makes him spooky whereas I really need some focused energy. He's on a mix of soaked hay cobs and grass / sainfoin chaff otherwise. Forage plus balancer and lysine with some extra vitamin E at times.
I was planning on a small bag of oats to see whether it helps or blows his brain into orbit but there are quite a few higher energy feeds out there now so thought I'd see what others used. No mashes though - he's not a fan
