Thought it was quite charming of him to buggar off like that and leave me to leg it on foot back!!! Hope he didnt cause too much of a problem in the trade stands....probably wanted to buy himself something nice
will moniter him carefully over next few months, just reluctant at this point to get vets involved, but can take temperature and see if that is ok!
Sounds like you had a great day, hes looking so well in those pictures! Must be lovely to be out and about on Winnie again. This ground really is awful, thankfully Tweseldown is so sandy, but everywhere else is a nightmare. I hope we get some rain soon, it would be lovely to get him to an eventing party again im sure. That dressage mark was awesome too-what a clever pair!

Yey, well done!! Sounds like you had a really good day, a very well done to you both
Hehe, PMSL about the bucking
At least he was really enjoying it
Did you get any pics?

Thanks sweets.
Saf managed to get two nice pics of him (just a couple of threads up) think photo synergy took the photos there, plus mum did a video - will try and take stills off that tomorrow.
I think he was rushing back to see the play back of him on the video
I would keep an eye on him tomorrow. Theres a few snotty noses around and coughs.
Take his temp too.
I didnt get the vets involved, ponio managed to shake it off in a few days anway.
Fingers crossed for a bit of rain then we can all get back to normal and start competing again.
I missed 4 days on HHO this week, and logged on to find 1200 replies in CR and about 5000 in NL. I can't keep up to date at all.
After five eventing weekends in a row, have had a day off today. Ben doing a PC XC tomorrow (was supposed to be with F but ground too hard so won't risk it).
Would be a bit bit for my brother, he is improving but only started riding about 3 years ago (after being an anti all his life). Just wondered as they go schooling at Tweseldown a lot.
Hmmm i know the feeling about the dressage-i went wrong twice in that stupid PN 111 with the silly walks. Was incredibly embarrassing and the pony went very well but idiot here made us lose 4 marks. Oh well, I doubt we'll make the same mistake twice!
Ive not been on much recently, been pretty busy with exams and the like, so eventing hasnt really happened much at all. Its tricky when you havent competed for a while to get back into it. He's going v well but may do a couple of intros to get us going again. Its our last season together too, sob
Well done, what a start to the season!
It sounds like a good day and a real confidence booster for taking Snoopy round next.
The weather made lots of horses either idle or het up today, I think older ones wanted to snooze in the sun and the youger ones felt spring under their tails, I saw loads messing about in the start box.
All I want now is a hot bath and a cool drink, why do events make you feel so dusty and gritty?
I hate 111 too lol always forget those blasted walks.
Oh now
well youve got to try and end on a high! get some tickets and go and have some fun over some intros.
You were really coming together hun, dont stop now.
Hasnt T got another hunter trials coming up - go to that
Bugger... exams too, good luck with those.
Keep me posted where you and the little guy go to, may get to come over and help
All fine here, as you know winston has ringbone so hes not as active. Snoops is a new addition and will hopefully BE very soon. Berts is very happy and retired even getting fat at 26.
I remember previous years not entering things in April because the ground was like a swamp!
Must be tricky with Winston - he obviously enjoys his eventing and it must be tempting to want to give him a couple of runs - but preserving him for another day must always be on your mind
Bless him, bet he'll be up all night telling his mates all about it
LOL it was like a desert at times at T, the wind really whipped up and you could hardly see the start box.
My face feels gross, add water and you have instant exfoliate!
The round was fab, and its given me a real buzz. So snoop best pull his socks up this week.
Have a week and 3 days to turn my asbo pony into something that half resembles an eventer
I havent even got the energy for a shower... im sat in my dressing gown ready to just sleep now lol
12 hours ago i was warming up for my dressage.....
We are hopefully off to a combined training soon, then maybe Borde Hill-all depends on the ground! Really wanted to go to Aston but had no transport that weekend annoyingly.
Yeah exams are a pain, however i finish school at end of June and have 3 months before uni-will plan lots of horsey things! Will hopefully be up your way at some point, maybe Purston in September if all goes well. You are always welcome to come along and meet the little chap again-he'll like you if you have food!
Glad to hear yours are all well. Where is snoopy off to for his debut? Let me know if you are down this southern way at all-would love to meet him!
Wow, what an excellent report, I felt like I was actually riding the Xcountry with you......(yeah, right!
)
Hard luck on the time but at least you'll hopefully have a horse for another day, whereas those who belt round on such hard ground may live to regret it.
Its interesting as I had the same at Tweseldown some years ago! It was an unaffiliated ODE at 450m per minute. This was exactly my horses speed if he was going at a steady gallop ie not flat out. I got 18 time penalties! I was standing by the board next to the secretary or someone and commented that it would have been dangerous to go any faster. I had also gone clear so there was no reason for alot of penalties!
Due to my comment and that of a few others they remeasured the course!!
As a result I went from about twentieth to second!!!
I makes me wonder whether they have used the same measurer as they used that day!!!!!

Well done!! I guess the thing with the timing is way you pay to go BE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I can say I saw no change out of 60 quid that was entry and start fee, so it no cheaper than running with BE bar the registration fee.
Most of the ppl running the event were BE representatives which is why im suprised the timing was totally shot.
Thanks again. Mr Snoozy is very well and happy this morning.
Although i was glad of the challenge in general i thought it was a stiff competition for an unaff intro! The schedule said 2'6-3ft, there was definitely no 2'6 fences in the SJ and in the XC, like you said, it was pointless having two 2'6 (probably smaller) fences at 8 and 10 when the combinations that needed them had trouble with fences 2 and 3!
This is the thing that annoys me about unaff they set there own rules which bare no relation to the national body. I hate the idea of BE lowering standards but you can completely understand why people would do a training level.
Well done important thing is you went really well - any plans now of maybe another ODE?
