and still it goes on. Tearing my hair out trying to stop my dog barking at the bangs, have to keep apologising to the neighbours.
Hopefully this weekend will see the end of it
Same here every night for 2 weeks and sometimes during daylight hours too. Was told by one of my facebook "friends" to get my dog pts as it's cruel keeping him alive if he's scared and he's only scared because I haven't trained him. That also goes for all dog owners who haven't trained their dogs and they are therefore scared and we all know nothing about dogs!
The replies to that were "interesting" to say the least, this is from a woman who allowed her 9 year old staffie to get pregnant, then the pups were roaming all over her drive nearly getting run over on the road as she has no fencing and finally dumping them on a rescue to get rid of, they were 6 weeks old.
My facebook timeline went into meltdown!
Started at 5pm Saturday and went on till 10-.30, makes you wonder who has all the cash for these fireworks. Turned telly up a bit, but don't want to deafen the neighbours, mind you that might have been better than the barking ! Have tried the plug in thingies pheromones? didn't work. Always had gundogs before they were mostly desperate to get out because they thought they were going out on a shoot !
It's been quite timely for us as we have a new puppy who's 10 weeks now and very impressionable. With he help of our adult dog, we've been able to show her that fireworks and bangs are just another not especially interesting part of life. Neither of them have been bothered at all.
