Does anyone else use bailer twine for a sweat scraper? My yard friends laughed the first time I did it, then looked on in admiration at that worthless bit of string as it got more wet off than their scrapers did

i have animals out in the back field who havent been caught up for over a week..possibly 10 days...they dont get fed on a daily basis either...ooo shoot me now....
they will be brought up next week as 2 of them are going to the sales....

The ironic thing for me is that I find far more time with other people's horses because I'm paid to do them, my poor boys are always dragged about on the brink of darkness, its a good job thier mummy loves them

Yes I do, much better for bending around legs and tummy and pretty much everywhere than the proper sweat scaper. I'm also using it currently to tie the front of Herbies rug up as he broke the clip, useful stuff!

It always makes me giggle. I can see why people want to spend 700 pounds on a saddle, but personally wouldnt. I went to an equine car boot and came back with loads... none of it matches, but it doesnt matter, it does the job. I'm a bit pedantic about keeping horsey stuff clean, I will set aside an hour a week just to clean stuff. Stable is kept very clean, buckets scrubbed etc etc, but I have the time spare to do that (and I'm sad).
At the end of the day we all have horses and / or ride because we love them. people have kept horses at full livery for YEARS and it's perfectly fine. The same as people have done DIY for years and it's fine.
What i don't like is people who just cannot be bothered to care for their animal properly, ie will not pay anyone to do it, have time to do it themselves but just are simply bone idle and leave their animals in filthy conditions. I've only ever come across three people who have been like this.
