I think I have bought an ugly duckling, hoping he will turn into a swan in the future.
Would any of you be prepared to show your ugly duckling/beautiful swan pics to help reassure me.

Whos got the most impressive transformation I wonder?

Hi, lets see your ugly duckling too, i love looking at peoples horses. Mine is an ugly duckling at the mo as he's only 3 and wintered out with no rug, so a very hairy beastie too, but i wouldn't have him any other way.

I've got another ugly duckling at the moment and like you am crossing my fingers that he's going though a gawky stage (he's rising 3). Good luck with yours.

Don't worry, they look dreadful at times, one end higher than the other, skinny, scrawny, legs all over the place one week then the opposite the next. One day you'll look at your horse and think "woooooooo, you've grown up"

Very important to keep photos because they are like children, you forget. Last time I looked my daughter was cute, wearing pretty little dresses with her red hair all ringletty. Now she never wears a skirt, has dyed straight hair and is taller than me...when did all THAT happen

Millitiger - thats ugly!, but wow what a transformation later, so elegant. Amazing
I just hope my assessment of my one is correct.
He is rising 4 but Cob X ID 16.1 now and growing.
Cant say too much yet as he is still at the Stud, but I am optimistic and he is perfect in many ways for me. I ve not been too wrong before buying youngsters, but its always a gamble with any horse.
If we were sane we wouldn't do it!

Virtual, thats amazing - what did you feed her. she looks so grown up and sophisticated.

Nothing special at all, just competition mix (she was lazy) chaff and veg oil. You can see from the pic that her body shape didn't change that much apart from muscling up in the right places. The biggest change was trimming her to make her front end look more refined.

_HP_ - He looks like he swallowed a coat hanger, but totally gorgeous now, I bet he is a lovely uphill ride with those withers.
B-G - what happened to turn that big headed youngster into the beauty she is now. Love a classy Skewbald.

Good feed, good grass, and lots of tlc and elbow grease

Nothing special particularly - think time was the biggest factor!

Goodness me what a lot of transformations!. Some look so poor when you get them, others are just gangly weedy babies.
What a testament to all the hard work everyone has put in plus a bit of time as well.
