if yiou use an under rug, what weight is yours?
im looking at the amigo insulator medium rug, but its only 150grams? will that be heavy enough?
shes got a blanket clip, out 24/7 and will have a heavy combo on aswell.

i don't use one.... just pop a fleece under if very cold.... but i should think 150g plus HW turnout should be fine... especially as shes got some of her own wooleys left on!!

that should be plenty warm enough, maybe if it got really cold she may need another rug, ie. snow or below -3. But it depends on your horse, what type is she? Cos a fine Thoroughbred will feel the cold more than a chunky cob.

she's an appoloosa but really feels the cold (but doesnt like being stabled).
250g is more what i wanted but without the neck really. hmm.

My mare is clipped out, and I use the Amigo LW stable rug as an under rug, with a MW turnout. If it is really freezing, she keeps it on under a HW stable rug at night. It's not just the fill, just having an extra layer seems to help to keep them warm too.

The Rambo Duo liners are excellent, come in different weights, the 400gram one is very warm. They attach at the back corners with clips to your outer rug and keep horsey very warm. Love them as they keep a nice shine to your horses coat and very easy to wash. Cheaper than an underug too.
