No you are not abnorm as l, nor cruel. Despite my rug collection all I have actually used this year is a rainsheet, a light t/o, a atable rug and a fleece. The others merely wait in bags, just in case.....

My YO has been amazing and really supported me whilst my husband was injured. I was wondering where I could find donkey sized rugs for sale, as I figure I should put my addiction to good use this festive season. YO has two donkeys, one is really tiny, the other is taller but still only about 13hh.

Yes definitely. And anyway - bright, tasteful rugs are well known for helping horses feel better. Hope she is recovering x

Huge get well soon hug for your mare, and yes, buy the rug :)

Thank you, she is back to her normal gobby self! Scares me silly each time she does it, I've had her 13 yrs and in that time if she isn't in the right rug and warm enough you can garentee she will go down with spasmodic colic.

Off to check I've been paid before buying rug:)

That's good news. And do make sure you buy the purple horse-cheering-up one!!
Whiel you are there, do you think you should get a spare ... just in case?:D

We must have at least 50 rugs between 4 ponies at home, probably more as I'm sure my mum squirrels them away in secret!

She went to Olympia yesterday, I told her not to buy any more rugs....what does she come back with? A lovely medium weight turnout rug!

My addiction is summer sheets, we like to take the ponies to polo in matching summer sheets....and of course they need to have a couple of different colours!

Ah, you will, you will, you will!

<tempts SC with the aid of the rug gremlins>

:D

*glares* well they are out of stock on the purple ones!!!!! Grrr so am still looking, anyone want to find me a medium weight detach a neck with shoulder pleats in a 5'9 with some purple/maybe pink on for a welsh cross?:) preferably not over three digits.......

Is it wrong to buy rugs for my favourite horse even though she's not mine? Is it wrong to get unreasonably grumpy about having to spend money on new outfit for a smart do for me, but not question the fact the horse could do with a new mid weight? Is it wrong to spend hours of my life working out whether I should get normal exercise sheet or wrap-around?

Maybe I don't want to hear the answers...!

Sounds normal to me!

Thanks Arizahn - what a great support thread!

Am still miffed about my outfit as could have bought a Thermatex cooler for the price.

(Walks off muttering... must let it go now...!)

I have just bought another rug! Convincing myself he needs it!
Cobbie muct own about 22 rugs now -.- Shetland still on 0! Although I am on a search for a teeny tiny fly rug for the summer

Thank you....really like the last one.

Have found these two, I have come to the understanding that as she is feeling the cold I don't really need a detacha neck, a combo will be fine so its a toss up between these two.
