Unnecessary stuff that people do on yards

The big waste of time on our yard and our neighbouring ones is considered to be my care of the muck heap. I put the muck up for between 6 and 8 horses because my daughter and our friend can't do it properly. I layer it perfectly, pat it, prod it and tread it down much to the amusement of all who see it. I say me and my muck heap should feature on grand designs. My daughter says we should be on a panorama special about OCD. Visitors from neighbouring yards are in hysterics about the fact that you could get a spot on reading from a spirit level on my muck heap. What a waste of time they say.
I have recently had the last laugh though. When others are paying to have their muck heap taken away at least twice a year, mine, with same amount of horses and same bedding is 2 and half years old and still ok for another few months.
It takes all sorts eh.

Good for you but i bet the heat from your heap could cook an egg:D

WOW iv read all off this and love it.
1, people that won't pick their horses feet out before leaving their stable hence bedding dragged all across yard :(

2, rugs hung over stable doors only for the horse to get smacked when he drags them into the stable.

3, obese horses but still being feed twice a day on sugar beet, mix and mollichaff!

4, seeing horses stood in bloody **** high stables.

5, horse trips on a ride so gets pulled in the mouth and kicked in the guts only to make the horse rush forward and trip again. Doesn't trip when you ride him!! I'm told. Wonder why.

And as I share with 1 other people that's good going :)
love her just not her ways

Oh and you will all hate me, i wash dee's legs every time they get sandy/muddy, but i only do this because we have had a huge issue in the past with her legs and the skin gets easily irritated if left dirty.

The white hair and scaring is only a hint as to how bad her legs were!

Some skins are much more sensitive than others..bless her! Just want to say what a gorgeous looking horse:)

shouting is one thing that annoys me, yes sometimes horses have to be spoken to sharply but constant shouting cant do any good, can it? also lack of communication, if you are bringing your horses and leaving mine on my own, please tell me so i can get him in and he is not charging about like a mad thing! Most people on my yard are fab and look after their horses very well.

We had someone on our yard years ago who pulled her horses tail hideously, cut it so short it couldn't flick flies off his sheath, hogged his mane then put a fly fringe on instead and spend lots of money on fly repellents/garlic supplements and so on.
This was so long ago it was before there were fly rugs.
