Visited yesterday and today and the progress between the two days is very noticeable. We were thrilled yesterday because we watched her having her physio session (now down in the gym) and she walked the length of the room twice - with help - then played Connect 4 and won. She pulled out the tube up her nose so her Mum told her off. Then the doc came and she told him she'd pulled it out because she didn't need it. He agreed and she said to Mum 'see, I told you'. She gave us a running commentary on the Aintree foxhunters as she was the only one who could hear (or see the race) properly on the TV above her bed. Told us the champion jockey didn't do well and she would have beaten him.

Today she was having her physio session when we arrived so we watched for a bit and she is much steadier than yesterday. She told the physio she wants to be walking unaided by Monday. Then later, we were in the day room watching the racing and I noticed her hitch herself more upright in the chair - she wouldn't have have been able to do that yesterday. She managed with very little difficulty to eat 3 Waitrose profiteroles and her speech is much less slurred.

On Monday, she is moving downstairs to the Lewin Rehab ward (but she calls it the Lewinatic Ward) which is next door to the gym and on the ground floor so she reckons she'll more easily be able to do a runner.

She is getting on so well that none of us (or the medics) can quite believe it but not sure how realistic she's being when she (still) keeps telling us she's going home tomorrow.

That is just fantastic news! I can't imagine what you and the family have been through since Rosie's accident, but I am just so pleased to hear that she is progressing so amazingly!

That's great news!

Oh wow, she's really forging ahead isn't she.

Glad to hear she's got a sense of humour and a forthright opinion on stuff. I bet it's that strength of character and feisty attitude that drives her to get better.

Thats is fantastic news & determination from R. Good lass tell her to keep it up, though doubt she needs telling! Sounds like Rosie is the one doing the telling!!

I can't believe what brilliant progress she's making. I think you'd better get her registered on HHO so we can keep her amused otherwise she's going to get really bored doing nothing in hospital and will def. try to do a runner!!

That is truly exciting news. Her progress is amazing, what a strong, determined girl she is. How wonderful for you all to see her make such big strides to recovery...

Come on Rosie... keep going, you're doing great. x

Right. I'm not impressed now. Can you please tell her that Tom Greenall is a star, he deserved to win the Foxhunters, and I won't hear any different.

shes soo strong willed she can do anything.
i loved it when she sayd ' ive got 22 at home to ride, and im racing the good ones soon' or something along those lines, and that she was going to have a good summer gettin back eventing, but wouldnt go back to showjumping as her event horse doesnt jump well enough.

also, when i said she can come and ride my 2 new safe ones, that hes so safe i cant get him to trot at home, and typical rosie sayd, ''ill beat it '' haha.

shes amazing and wil be back winning before we all know it.
keep gettin better rosie.
love amber xxxx

Such great news and her belief that she will be going home will make her all the more stronger, just don't take it away from her, it's keeping her positive. The fact that she was a fit, healthy young lady when she had her accident, is no doubt what is aiding her recovery.

Fabulous news.xx

Proves what sheer guts and willpower will achieve! Good on her for being such a fighter.

Rosie is truly one of a kind, sounds like she is determined to get better as soon as possible! Glad to hear things are going so well, all the best.
