Hi All
Just wanted to do an update to follow on from my previous post about MRI results of DDFT & navicular.
I did a lot of research and visited Rockley, spoke to my vet, my vet spoke to Nic etc. Based on the poor prognosis and Dillon and I not being fans of box rest (mentally for him) my vet agreed this was also his best chance, and so he went to Rockley yesterday.
I have just returned from an epic 7 hour journey from Rockley back to Kent (will be avoiding doing that journey on a Friday again!), but I am happy in the knowledge that he is in the most capable hands.
It will still be a challenge to see if he will come right, and I will miss him like mad, but at least mentally he is in a much nicer place than staring at the walls of his stable. Even today after being there 24 hours he was calm, chilled out and quite settled making new friends and exploring the 'track' - much better than his recent behaviour on box rest kicking the hell out of the wall.
Those of you that follow the Rockley blog will soon see pics of him!
Thank you to all of you who PM'd me and those who gave me their advice and experience. I considered everything and I chose the route that I felt was right for me and Dillon.
